2022 Goals and Plans
I'm not one for who usually makes New Years resolutions, but I thought this time it would be a good opportunity to reflect on what I want to accomplish in the near future and how to go about achieving that.
For one thing I'd like to do commissions, it is a long term goal of mine to eventually make a living off of art. While I did open them up last year (if anyone is interested feel free to contact me!) I haven't really advertised my services nearly enough to get any bites. I think this stems from my innate shyness and anxiety about social interactions, both in real life and online. I believe the only way to get past that is to bite the bullet and step out of my comfort zone and post more, so expect more journals in the future! I'd also like to remind anyone reading this I also have other social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram under the same username (@FaroraSF), I don't use either of them to their full potential and hope to learn more on how to use social media in the coming year. It doesn't help that I work nightshift and so I'm asleep throughout the more active times of the day (in case anyone was wondering why I tend to post things at 5-6am).
Art wise I'd like to post more often. I tend to come up with art ideas that are slightly beyond my skill level and thus take longer than I expect to complete. My silly WoW mini webcomic I've been working on has certainly taken me much longer to complete than I thought it would, but it is good practice so I will continue with it. It has been good at exposing certain areas that I am deficient at and so has taught me what I should focus on in the coming months (namely backgrounds).
So currently the plan is to try and make less time consuming art along with the more time consuming stuff and also do more studies to fill in my skill gaps. I also want to get used to using social media more and interacting with online communities.
Feedback welcome!
