Pokemon Unite fanfic + Twitter poll
I know I still owe everyone who submitted entries for the Halloween Party TF story raffle a, well, story. My only problem is 1) came across writer's block while trying to write it and 2) more writer's block every time I even attempt to write it out. Going to try something different in order to get over this writer's block with it and get it posted for y'all ASAP.
Meanwhile, I also, spontaneously as per usual with me when it comes to new story ideas, came up with an idea for a Pokemon Unite fanfic, so to speak. Do I enjoy the game? Yeah, sure I do...but I'm not particularly "competitive" in it either. I'm more of a casual player, much like how I am when it comes to literally any game. I just play for fun and enjoyment and as a way to pass the time/cure boredom. That's it. Anyway, the idea is this: in roughly 5-10 years (or so), Nintendo decides to jump into the VR market as it's really booming (playing off the current rise in VR and such) by making their own VR system (let's say they name it something like Nintendo Switch VR or something. It's a work in progress, so bear with me XD) and the first game they wanna make playable on their VR system? Their hugely popular and successful Pokemon Unite (Pokemon GO is AR, so it doesn't count for this) and they need a playtester in order to test Pokemon Unite's VR version (likely the top Unite player in the world or something like that). At the end of a game, the playtester goes to change out the holowear their chosen Pokemon wears (holowear that's new and unique to the VR version) only to feel a slight jolt of electricity in their player character that their real body also feels. Not thinking anything of it, they go into the game and play, ultimately winning handily, but come across an error at the end of the game that causes them to remove the VR goggles since the game is now unplayable until they physically reset the game...only to find out that they can't reset the game due to not having human hands. Let alone being human period. They quickly look in a mirror (conveniently in the testing room already) to find that their human body has been transformed into the Pokemon they used in-game.
Obviously, there have been plenty of VR-triggered Pokemon TFs, specifically with Zeraora, so I obviously want this to be a bit different from those TF artworks. However, I'm not completely axing Zeraora as a choice for this story, but I'm certainly willing to use either Zeraora or another current Pokemon in the game.
Now, the biggest question is: what Pokemon does the playtester get turned into? A Pokemon that is currently in the game already (like Zeraora, Lucario, Charizard, Dragonite, or even Garchomp)? Or a Pokemon that (potentially) could get put in the game by the time this story takes place (5-10 years into the future...assuming Pokemon Unite is still going strong 5-10 years from now)? To help narrow it down a bit (currently in-game vs not yet in-game), I created a Twitter poll, which you can find here: https://twitter.com/Kvaloth/status/.....428526593?s=20. Depending on which option wins (in-game or not yet in-game), there will be another poll to help narrow it down to one, specific Pokemon after this poll is complete. So, whichever Pokemon TF you want to see me write, go ahead and head over to Twitter to cast your vote! You've got 7 days till the poll ends in order to cast your vote.
