Need advice on commissioning

Hi everyone! It's been a few months since I've set up this account and I feel it's long overdue that I finally start commissioning art of my sona. One thing I'm concerned about is potentially de-anonymising myself. For example, PayPal (common choice for artists) seems to require sending legal name and address to whoever is providing the service. I'm sure there's good reason for this but I worry about that info getting leaked and made public. I'm keeping my human and furry identity as separate as possible for now, as I'm paranoid as to what could happen if someone finds out, be it someone I know or some weirdo stalker on the internet.
So my question is this: Can I trust artists to keep my personal information safe? Have there been any cases of artists abusing info sent to them?
At the end of the day, I'm just asking for reassurance. I've been a privacy nut my whole life, fearing what others could do knowing everything about me. Discrediting, humiliation, harassment doxxing, etc. But I feel I can't keep living like that, and I really do want to come out of my shell.
As for what to expect. I'll start out SFW, just to ease myself in, but I do promise fetish content sooner or later.

Generally speaking though, the paypal process with commissions is pretty safe. Mostly, the artists you'll meet here are just people selling their goods. No different from something like etsy. Personally, if it helps, I haven't heard any horror stories of artists or commissioners using legal names to harass or cause issues (I also don't think your physical address is required unless you get prints or badges or any physical goods)
Obviously though it's smart to get a good idea of who you're getting a commission from! (The community isn't perfect after all XD) And there's nothing wrong with checking how consistent an artist has been or looking at any feedback they've received so that you can make sure you will get what ya expect when ya expect it!
But yeah!
Hope this wasn't too long winded and that it could help reassure ya a bit! ^^ So excited to see ya dip your toes in and get some pieces!
My feet (paws) on the other hand. After I get them wet, I'll definitely look to getting them tickled X3
