What's One Thing About You, Specific to Your Species?

What's Reptu up to this time?
Even though the characters I make are anthro animals, they basically do and say things as if they were 100% human. I feel like I should do this more - research things that are true to actual, living animals, and apply those to my characters, for the sake of making them more memorable, and true to the fact that they are a combination of human and animal traits.
Examples:
- dogs do not like to be bothered while they are eating
- crocodiles blow bubbles in water to attract mates
- cats see better during the nighttime than the day
- elephants have an extremely strong memory
You know, stuff like that.
The tricky thing is since I'm a dragon, I have nothing real and living to study and use it increase my dragon traits. However, I can look towards literature and see how dragons are perceived around the world, and use that. Also, since dragons are based off of reptiles, I could implement that as well.
- Part of being a dragon is that I shed, and a chore is to peel off my dead, scaly skin, and it piles up in my trash cans.
- When it gets cold at night, the outside temperature becomes my internal body temperature, since I'm cold-blooded. So, I have to layer myself in blankets, and keep heaters around.
- Whenever you pet me, you always have to stroke from head to tail to avoid chipping my scales, because of how they are layered.
Playing off of this, what's something about you that's unique and specific to your species?

For my species, you already said one XD i would add that cats can't resist to play with a string (tested XD) and always land on 4 paws. (Most of the time x3)
About my dragon sona, we share some traits like cold blood, flying. But as a furred and skinned dragon, i guess i'll have to implenment traits from furry aninals. ^^
Haha, gotchya on that one, since I said it! That's cute: you couldn't resist to play with the string. I could picture your cat sona eyes following it, if I were to swing it in front of you.
That's interesting that it's different, that fluffy dragons would have traits from furry animals. That could be a fascinating dynamic: the contrast between having fur and being cold-blooded.
- They can hibernate.
- They're nocturnal.
- They're lactose intolerant.
The ironic thing is l'm not like this, l bet it's because l was raised in South America. XD
Oh yeah, I was inspired to write this journal a bit from you, that your sona can roll into a spiky ball to protect himself. That's something you utilized based on something from actual hedgehogs.
And yeah! They use that in order to protect from their enemies. >:3
Basic stuff:
King of Dinosaurs
Large Head, Small Arms
Large set of teeth.
Funny thing is that don't have any of that, I got large gloves, and only have one tooth and I don't consider myself a king. XD
But since I'm reptile I have same similar quality like being cold blooded and prefer warmer climates.
And yes! I'm right there with you, DGF. Warmer climates are nicer, and it's so lovely to bask in the sun.
But honestly, I don't really have any I can tell about at the moment. Sorry, but very interesting question!
I hope I didn't misunderstand what you're asking here. If so, I'm a giant derp <_>
I think you sort of got it. And whenever I write journals, it's not something that you or anyone has to satisfy, or know exactly what I mean- it's for conversation. But if you wanted to know my original intention of this journal, I wrote it, because I was thinking about the movie "Sing" by Illumination. In that movie, even though the world was made up of anthropomorphic animals, the writers and directors didn't take much advantage of that. Like, they could have done really awesome and funny things from the fact that they're animals. I just thought I was doing the same thing, not taking advantage of the fact that my characters are anthro animals, and I wanted to challenge myself to make my characters more animal-like, mentally, not just physically.
