Nah. My mentality is that someone else worked hard to make their own world, so it feels a bit like an insult to their work to usurp it with my own character and a lot of an insult to steal and use theirs.

Other folks in this community seem to have the opposite mentality, where trying to integrate or "borrow" is a compliment to how interesting that setting is.

Yeah, my oc is based on the nightstalker species from Fallout New Vegas.

My Tauren druid Kimi'melah, a long retired World of Warcraft character of mine that I still draw and develop today. Tired of the conflict between the horde and alliance, she tries to live a peaceful life out in the barrens with her little bunny girlfriend Holly who she took in after she was displaced from her own plane of existance. Regarding the last detail, I like to think of these game worlds that I enjoy as alternate universes that my other personal characters can visit or be transported to by one means or another.

Not really, I've just kinda moved out of that phase.

I guess my fox fursona current look is base on how my character looked in Adventure Quest World. They had a fox head and fox tail skin that I wore a lot of times. Then when they came out with a card player class, the trench coat look so cool with the fox head and tail that I play as that a lot of times. Then later I got him drawn by an old artist friend and just did very minor tweaks to him throughout the year.

Well, Chompless' current backstory is that she killed her father (the prototype Indoraptor from the film) by pushing him over a bit further so he died how he did, and she only did that because he was the only creature she could ever truly hate, due to his vicious nature, and she was nothing like him.

The closest I have is the first name of my wendigo, Sindri Wulver, named after the seemingly OCD and germaphobic brother of the dwarves in the Norse God of War game that came out a while ago, their last name was a reference to the enemy in the same game too until I realized there were actual legends of Wulvers in Scotland, a variant of the usual werewolf tale, but it was wolf-headed men who'd help poorer families by leaving them fish on the windowsills of their homes, and would occasionally help defend towns and stuff

Feral form of my dragon gal is basically shaped after the shrek dragon beacuse I love that design.

Not yet, but I've gotten back into Five Nights at Freddy's in a big way and am currently working on adapting an animatronic version of my main sona. A friend of mine drew up a lovely proof of concept and it's got me inspired to expand the idea by giving him a full ref and even his own restaurant with a cast of characters.

I'd want it to be loosely based off of fnaf rather than directly tied to the game's cannon. Same basic setting and premise, different universe, characters and events, that kind of thing.

I have a few, but the one I created from the ground up was a new species for the Legend of Zelda called the Astros, a reptilian bipedal species (not to be confused with Lizalfos or Dinolfos) that is half 'Hylian' looking from the waist up and reptilian looking forearms, eyes, horns, and waist down lower halves.

Two OCs are named Lord Solar (pronounced Soul-lore) and Sir Luna. Lord Solar is the king of the Astros people and the only Astros with red scales, which happens to be royal color in their culture. He is wise, but can be a bit brass at times, since he did become king at the age of 17 when Sir Luna (his champion) ended up slaughtering his father's champion in a duel for the crown.

Sir Luna was a feral child until Lord Solar (as a young kid) discovered her and trained her to become his champion. Because of him, she is undyingly loyal to him, but will have a clash in conflict when she meets Link for the first time, much to Lord Solar's teasing delight.

Sorry, I can go on about these two~ There's a lot of history and backstory I've planned out on them. But the point is, yes, I have OCs based on video games because video games were my escape as a child and as a creative writer, I created characters that I would love to see in that universe or place. I love all of the pics with Halo and Ratchet because, I feel that~

I was a kid once upon a time, and as such, many of my fascinations from that time seeped into characters. Seeing as he's a character that grew with me from my childhood, YellowCloak/Amarillo has lore that 'links' to things like Code Lyoko and World of Warcraft, even if such is as distanced as possible at this point.
Was a whole 'videogame villians doing things to affect the real world, so people go into the game to stop them' thing. About the only thing that kept from that time, though, is that what 'Blizzard' became is now an as-of-yet unnamed psuedo-military thing fighting the evil of the world.

I have a character that’s one of the alien species from the Halo universe! T’vaoan to be specific (those speedy bird things on Reach) and they’re very skittish. Honestly need to get more art of him

I've had a handful of my original characters live in several different mythos before. I prefer to explore the universe as them in their day to day lives over the names characters already written into the story.

In the case of World of Warcraft, my Tauren Sharess was made to explore that world in and still does today. Though she has started to reach into other mythos as well.

Rift has become a khajiit as well, with a background to suit him in The Elder Scrolls.
