UPDATE: Got tested and I am positive. Just fucking great.
My mom has been feeling like having a cold a few days ago and tomorrow she had a test. She was positive.
So she is now in her bedroom taking medicine and feeling like shit. She got fever last night and got scared but she is better now.
At least as best as she can feel with that shit inside her.
Oh, and I have been with a sore throat for days...
Of course, I'll get tested tomorrow (I have to make an appointment and they were all full) but I am pretty sure I have it.
I called school and so far I am doing my classes online. But I don't know what will happen if I get positive.
And is freaking cold outside.
The thing that gives me relief is that both my mom and I are vaccinated and got our booster shot last week.
But still, it sucks.
But it was meant to happen. Everybody I know around has cold or something like that. A family of relatives, they all have it. My brother has a cold. A neighbor got tested and she was positive too. Everybody is having covid tests so you know it will get worse before it gets better.
Seriously, when we will have a start of the year without some crap like this?

But like you said there is no need to worry excessively; the vaccination will still protect both you and your mother and at least you will avoid the most severe development of the virus.
Let's also hope that the Omicron variant is like it has been identified by some virologists as the last attack from the virus; afterwards hopefully the virus will keep becoming less and less dangerous.
I also wish you good luck: perhaps you may be lucky and not having the covid at all.
Last year both me and my mother had three days of a very bad cold/flu but in the end it turned out it was not Covid at all. Which is good since I am dealing with covid infects on an everyday base.

I hope is that omicron thing but the test doesn't say. God knows what it is. In any case, gotta be prepared. at least both of us are vaccinated.
