New PC vs 2022
And boy what a clusterf- it is. Long story short, i gotta get a new computer and replace/relearn a whole lotta things. Long story LONG, for those who don't mind a bit of rambling, here's my situation...
When i built my current PC, i built it to last. Problem is, that's exactly what it did, all the way into the pandemic. Now that parts are scarce, overpriced and delayed, of course it decides to start falling apart. To give you an idea of how old this thing is, most parts date back to 2010 ~ 2012. Yeah, it's old.
So what's giving me trouble? The biggest issue is probably the fact i'm still on Windows 7. This was a voluntary choice for a while, but with 7 no longer viable it leads me to the next issue; My CPU doesn't support windows 10! "So just upgrade the CPU" i hear you say, right? My motherboard doesn't support better CPUs! Okay, let's change that too- that means i also need new Ram sticks~
And down the rabbit hole we go! Because what else do i have that's as old as this build? You guessed it, my drawing tablet! Which will very likely no longer work on windows 10. (Along with my microphone and controller but those are less important.) And the cherry on top? I've also been unable to update my version of Clip Studio Paint for years, so i'm way behind on that as well. Finally, throw in a potentially dying GPU and some finicky 2gb ram sticks (yikes, i know), and now you're aware of the rust bucket that is my work station.
The bottom line; It's reached a point where i have to take the plunge. Gotta build a new PC, get used to a new OS, get used to a new tablet, then relearn Clip Studio Paint. It might not seem like that big a deal to most folks, but i am unfortunately a very slow learner that doesn't like change. So bare with me, i'll try to get this done asap, but it may be a lil' bit before i have anything to post. And boy are my brain cells going to need a nap from the shopping alone.
