Commission Waitlist closed - life update! SCAMS
3 years ago
Hiya! I should be ready to start the next batch of commissions in a week or two.
I'll be accepting around 7 waitlist spots. It costs a nonrefundable $10usd fee (not deducted from the price of the comm) and it reserves a spot for you the next time I open. If you're unable to fund the commission by the time I'm open, then the spot will be saved for you until you're able!
If you're interested, comment here or note me. :)

life update:
SO it's been a crazy start to the year! I caught Covid literally on January 1st, so I was stuck in quarantine for 2 weeks, and JUSTTTT as I was able to leave the house again, my whole city went on lockdown for 2 weeks. Fortunately my fiance and I (oh, I got engaged in the Fall, by the way!) are very healthy so we experienced minimal symptoms. Hoping you guys are keeping healthy and sane!
As far as art goes, I've been taking some online classes with Schoolism and totally loving it. I can see it starting to improve my commission work too, which is super fun (hopefully you guys can see it, too!). I've been getting really invested in creature design so I've been doing a lot of that behind the scenes. So I'm pretty happy overall, although yesterday I was nearly scammed by a person pretending to be a recruiter for PopCap Studios. I had a little interview with them (where they asked some good questions) said they would like to work with me, told me we would have a meeting with the art director next week, gave me so much detailed employment info.... and then I looked it up and realize it was all a scam. Very disheartening but I'm very glad I caught on before I exchanged any personal info. It was definitely the most legit-sounding scam I've ever seen, they knew all the right software and tech and were very detailed with what the job would entail. The big red-flag was that it was a text-based interview through Telegram (which seems so obviously a scam now, but I figured it was like a pre-interview screening process) and they said they would write me a cheque to pick up the equipment, so at that point I knew something was up. So anyway watch out for that one, guys! :')
YEAH I feel like it's been ages since we just kinda chatted. LIFE BE CRAY but I feel pretty optimistic that things are starting to turn around! :)

Happy to hear that you recovered from Covid with no major issues, I had it back in July and my sense of smell and taste hasn't been the same since. 2022 has just started and things are already happening way too fast, but here's to hoping the rest won't be so crazy!
Oof that sucks! I must have caught the omicron variant, so I was pretty lucky in that regard. What's that Batman quote... "the night is darkest just before the dawn"? Yeah. Let's hope that's what's happening haha. Hope you get your dang smell/taste back!
And yes let us hope that's the case, we all deserve a good year by now haha. Thank you for the well wishes!
OR where they want you to send them funds because they just "purchased" a bunch of work from home equipment for you and of course they just take the money and run. Well done for spotting the scam and not getting caught out!
Some of the banking, job and sale scams have become really sophisticated, especially when mobile phones are involved with re-routing numbers and scammers being able to impersonate/fake the numbers of actual legit businesses.
Feels like a lawless mess out there sometimes :V
Sounds legit :P
Glad you weren’t scammed!
Glad to hear recovery went well and your fiance fared well through it! I'm also excited to see what types of new skills and designs you will be showing in the future!
Thanks so much!!
Sorry to hear you caught the Rona, though. Either I've been asymptomatic or I've managed to go this long without catching it. One of my teammates at work did, but we all work from home so I was able to stay safe.
It's so hard to know if you've caught it or not, that's the weird thing. Happy to hear your health hasn't been impacted, one way or another!
I got Covid earlier this month and two days after getting over that and being able to get back to work I twisted my ankle on Saturday so now I’m out for at least another two weeks.
Besides that I’m doing good. I always look forward to and love seeing your art.
And it seems like it's been an eventful year for a lot of people so far! Hopefully future events are more fun-exciting, and less scam/sickness-exciting.
Yep haha never a dull moment, but all the good stuff is coming!!
It also really sucks to hear that you almost got scammed, especially with something like that, I bet it was really exciting for a bit, but I’m glad you realized at the end of the day. Do you post anywhere else?
Over there things things have been crazy these past few weeks… I found a job that I like a lot (I now work with photography equipment) but I can’t do it from home, and there’s been COVID cases left and right around me, somehow I’m still healthy and I’m thankful. I feel like I’ve gotten my art drive back after a long time (not really posting on fa at all though) and just… hanging in there. I’d say that aside from the pandemic, which is not in my control at all, life is good.
Wait list would be cool :)
Yeah my finance had the booster and his symptoms were even less than mine, so it definitely works.
Yeah I was SO excited for a bit, which definitely sucks, but it was really interesting to psychologically experience what it felt like to land a dream job hahaha even if it was fake, it made me realize how much I actually want that, so that's pretty cool. I post on Instagram, I'll note you :)
It's pretty hard to avoid at the moment, but I'm glad you're keepin on and making art.
& sure thing!
And yeah… god what a way to mess with artists :/ so many of us dream of landing jobs in something related to art (to be fair any job we might really want)… I can absolutely say that having a job that you like makes a gigantic difference!
The big bad C sure does feel unavoidable at times, though. This whole deal about it being an eventuality feels more tangible as time goes on, let’s keep on being careful :,)
