The Furry International Orchestra For Members of FIO
To start out,one person will upload a base to build on (drum beat, riff, etc) as a scrap on this account. This is downloaded and another sees what he/she can add to it, then uploads both a combined version (there part with other parts) and a separate version (there part only) to scraps. This process continues until a full song is created.
We will communicate via FA (comments on this account and individual notes) and through the Live group. Communication is key, I can't stress this enough. I suck at it, just so you know. I expect us to openly critique each other. If something sucks, say so. Don't beat around the bush.
Recording should be a decent quality. If you have a crappy mic that picks up computer fans and/or doesn't pick up your instrument/voice cleanly, don't use it. And if you can avoid using a mic altogether (i.e. plugging the instrument directly in to the computer's line in or other viable input), do so. If you don't have a high end program like ProTools or FL studio, go with a basic freeware program like Audacity. That should do the trick.
We'll all have access to this account. I'll be sending out the log in info via notes to current members shortly, so watch your inboxes. When posting anything, we'll sign it with the iconusername (in colons::) at the bottom. Scraps will be used for all the file sharing, so be sure to watch scraps on your individual accounts. Any commenting should be done via individual accounts to avoid confusion.
For everyone else
We're still looking for members to join up in this massive undertaking, particularly anyone who is handy with mixing, as well as instruments like keyboards, strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, etc.
If you wish to participate, send me a note with what you can offer to FIO, and watch this account to stay up to speed.
A final note
For everyone I've already welcomed on, your now on the profile, and I've put down what I know you will be contributing. If there is anything else you can contribute, go ahead and throw it up there when you get the log in pw.

Sounds interesting though, I hope you find something to work that out.
Also, line-in noise from instruments without some sort of de-esser/hardware/tube preamp is also something that could depreciate a final mix.
Thanks
And also, I think the unlimited instruments isn't, according to me, a good idea. On
On a band, or orchestra, people play ONE instrument at time, and it'd be better to limit the number of instrument to one single. With an alternative one, eventually.
