Okay, folks. If you have been paying attention to this chipmunk on here Fur Affinity and on Ink Bunny, you may know of my second main fursona character Bri the Raccoon. But what you may NOT know is early in the life of my raccoon boy, he was one half of a dynamic duo. Well if you have read my previous journal entry titled "A Formal Introduction", maybe you might know about Bri once being one half of a former duo the other half being Bri's best friend, a prairie dog named Tod. The last pic of that character I drew was him doing tricks on a BMX bicycle. That was years ago. Even at that point Tod was separated from Bri and basically on his way to full retirement from my roster. That Left Bri as a solo character from that point onward.
Sometime when I was in high school, I created Tod and Bri together pairing them up. They were mainly meant to be Beavis and Butthead-esque characters just out to cause mischief and mayhem in their school, making the life of their principle, Ivan S Tremble, a living hell. They were really meant to be just some characters to have fun with. I did draw comics about the two placing them in various stories. Allot of it was just the stereo typical edgy stuff that I kind of snicker at when I look through the old sketch books with those comics. But hey, I was young too back then still trying to figure out who I am as a person. Over time though unlike Bri who persisted to the present day and eventually rose to stand along side Tamias the Chipmunk as one of my two main fursonas, Tod faded into retirement.
Bri stuck around with me though, I toyed with him in other stories. For awhile he was a pilot of a starship captained by a significant character in my roaster named Addus, of a warrior race known as Fantarans. Currently Bri is cast in the Chipmunk Kingdom storyline as an assistant and a bit of a care taker to Tamias helping the chipmunk during the summer season when Tamias's priestly duties as Chipmunk Chieftain gets really busy. The raccoon's roll is reflected in his current character bio.
However I have been doing some experimentation with Bri in his character development and uncovered a big aspect in him that was surprising even to me. Bri the Raccoon is full tilt homosexual. I tested the waters with Bri via non-cannon, experimental stories placing Tamias and Bri in...erm....romantic situations... and Bri took to those situations like a fish to water. My god that raccoon NEEDS a romantic partner...BADLY!! The raccoon is more than capable of making the lucky partner melt in his arms. He made short work of Tamias in one hell of a hurry.
But here's the issue. I can't pair Bri with Tamias in a romantic way mainly because I want my fiancée's fursona being Tamias's romantic partner to be as official cannon and rightfully so for obvious reasons. Also I have been thinking about doing a romantic story involving Bri for awhile. So the raccoon is in dire need of a partner to make a romantic story possible. The one and only solution is Bri's former companion, his best friend, Tod. On that note I need to revive Tod and recast him as not only Bri's best friend, but as the one to become Bri's soul mate and romantic partner. This means a ref sheet of Tod and a good backstory and character bio for the prairie dog.
Bri has been with me for nearly as long as Tamias. He has went though allot of changes, been through many situations, and was hit by the loss of his best friend. So the raccoon needs to be rewarded for his persistence in sticking with me for all this time. So in addition to the work I have already done to his character development thus far, what better reward than to give Bri back his best buddy as the raccoon's romantic partner. I can already sence my raccoon boy jumping up and down gleefully at these prospects I have in store for him.
What this means is I will need to eventually update Bri the Raccoon's character bio and redo his back story to include Tod as his romantic partner and also redesign and rebuild Tod in my current art skills and style and flush out his character development to a point he can handle the romantic story I want to place him and my raccoon 'sona in. It will take some time to pull this off. But this should be fun.
