Not reopening commissions yet
Time has really flew for me in the last few months, albeit in a good way. Last summer I chose to take a break from commissions in order to complete a number of home renovation works and to stay as close as possible to my wife during the last part of the pregnancy and the first months of our son. In the meanwhile I focused on drawing and catching up with reading books and articles - a fundamental part of my art process for which it's sometimes difficult to find time these days, but always pays off in the long term. I've also experimented quite a bit with board game design which proved a very interesting creative outlet, and while I'm not ready to show anything yet I definitely want to develop some of my prototypes, so there will be more about that in the future.
Now the baby is three months old and doing very well, and I've finally set up my new studio room and I've pick up the brushes again. I had planned to reopen commissions in February but eventually I've decided I won't reopen them for now. Before reopening I need at the very least to complete two projects that have been in the work for a long time. The first is the third book of the Lost Stars series which I'm illustrating. The second is my own Art Book, in which I'm gathering all my best works of the last fifteen years along with insights on my creative process and my vision of furry art and anthropomorphic art in general.
Besides of these projects, the fact is I've been painting almost exclusively commissions and small simple pieces since 2017, and while I enjoy those a lot, I now feel an almost physical urge to paint some large personal paintings again. I have plenty of complex ideas that I had set aside in the past because I didn't have the time or the skill to tackle them, but after all the practice I did for complex commissions I feel more confident now, and and as I go through my notes I'm aching to get to work on those ideas, so that I'll also have something new to show as more art galleries and other RL art venues reopen.
So this is my plan for the next few months at least. (I also have a lot of sketches ready for the small frontal portraits series but those are mostly for warming up or trying out new techniques.) I don't have an estimated time for reopening commissions at the moment, so I apologize to those who were waiting for an opening at this time, as I had answered several inquiries mentioning that I'd reopen them around this time of the year. In the meanwhile I hope I'll be able to at least provide interesting, more challenging personal art.

I would absolutely love to have a book of your work, and I really look forward to seeing you indulge in your personal painting ideas.
