Goodbye Memories - No more content
I wish things had turned out different.
But, after the sudden suspension of my YouTube channel of 15 years.
Days before Christmas. After many appeals and an internal investigation. Someone at YouTube/Google has decided that what I create is sexual and is in violation of their rules.
They have stated that the channel has been permanently terminated, their decision is final and it can not be overturned. I understand that others whom make the same content were lucky in getting their channels back after the same reason for suspension.
However, I was not.
I have lost 15 years of memories.
I do not have back up, especially of the older videos.
These videos featured friends and loved ones who are no longer with us.
These videos showed the joy of performing these skits live at conventions all over the world.
These videos showcased my own creative expression, my skills. Both with ideas, editing and building the costumes themselves.
These videos were documented and accessible memories that are now gone forever.
I've met so many of you who said that they found this fandom through my videos.
Regardless of one's opinion of inflation as a fetish.
My videos in particular. Where not created for sexual purpose. I've seen inflation porn, this is not inflation porn.
They were live action cartoon antics. There to create laughter and entertainment. They were harmless. No different to what you see in cartoons and movies.
I'm not sure if the single person or small group of people who had the final say on my channel simply hates furries, gay people, Australians, Immigrants or what. But, I feel personally attacked and feel this decision was made in bias.
I don't know what I did wrong.
This has truly sent me into quite the depressive spiral.
It has greatly affected my mental health.
I've had a lot on my plate and like many of us the last two years have been taxing on us all.
I do not know what this means for the future. I have lost all interest in creating content. YouTube deleting my channel feels like I've lost a part of my soul and identity.
I do have wonderful support around me. I know I can get past the low point mentally eventually. But, this truly has affected me so deeply that I really don't see myself going any further when it comes to content creation. Both with Oz and as Duke.
I do thank you all for all the wonderful memories. It was a true joy to create those videos over the years.
If anyone has copies of my videos (mainly the older ones). Please feel free to send me a DM. It would mean a lot to me to get them back.
I kindly ask that no one reuploads my content to YouTube. I do not want it there and will report any that are. No one has my permission to upload my content.
I have no interest at this stage uploading or using other video platform. I shouldn't have to.
In the end, I tried. An employee at Google/YouTube said no.
So, that's the end of that.

I've been fighting Google behind the scenes for some time. They routinely classified furries as a fetish category and sexual, ESPECIALLY for any that could be cartoonish (fat, inflated). They've been shutting down a lot of creative content, and even impacted FA quite a bit with their decisions.
I'm really sorry this happened to you. Google and creative folk are not something that goes hand in hand. They've been shutting down tons of old accounts.
They didn’t care if you swore, they didn’t care what content was in your videos, but now it’s depressing
Yeah.......
You helped make that bed, too bad the rest of us all have to lay in it too.
There's a difference in banning disruptive individuals promoting hatred and websites like Google blanket banning UGC websites or individuals like Oz just trying to show some harmless, albeit weird fun.
I need not say more, the blanket censorship we are all going to see will speak for itself.
Don't believe me? Literally give me any example, and I will explain how it's political. Go.
Try this-instead of putting superficial interests ahead of being a compassionate person stop being a selfish person and maybe start giving a shit about the terrible way oppressed communities are treated. The issue isn't that life is becoming more political. It's always been. You just don't like having your privilege shoved in your face. You don't like the inconvenient truth that how you live your life affects others and that maybe some of the ways you choose to live might be having a detrimental effect on others.
Be a kinder person and do your best to help others who need it. Speak out against injustice. Be more compassionate. If you can't do that at least do the rest of us a favor and keep your hypocrisy to yourself.
Gtfo out of here, you don't belong.
Thank you for not allowing hate speech groups on FA. The slippery slope argument is often used to argue for giving platform to hate speech groups, but in reality giving them platform would drive out anyone who is not aligned with their beliefs.
YouTube has, sadly, become notorious for censorship of sometimes the weirdest things, as well as shutting down content or creators for seemingly arbitrary reasons. One of the problems they face is that YouTube is operating in every country in the world, and thus insanely weird pressure is being applied to them from every government and host country they're in. Google is responding in kind, and trying as hard as they can to "evolve" as a platform because they view sites like TikTok as threats.
It's unfortunate.
Very sorry your going through this
The only way to prevent this is to self host and don't rely on the "cloud".
Your content has always been an inspiration, and helped me find the fandom
Safe travels, Oz.
Oz, one of your oldest videos was my first exposure to furry inflation. Absolutely disappointed and upset to hear YouTube did this and is going against every furry and inflationist on the platform.
Do what you need to do, Oz. We'll be around when you're ready again.
It was painfull but what your are going throught was the suppression of your channel is just... even harder.
I'm bad at helping other mentaly, All I think I can say is that..; after enduring that myself and overcoming it, just know that this doesn't mean nesseseraly the end of your life on internet.
You still have fan that follow you on twitter and FA. No idea how you will continue after that. But yeah, just wanted to say that this don't have to be the end if you really don't want to. but if you want to stop that totally normal too.

i wish your best wishes for the future

I’ve been a fan for many years. I hope some content can be recovered somehow. You’re a part of the fandom as I have ever know it.
I hope you will be able to get some of it back if people have downloaded it. Super unfortunate and I am sorry this happened to you. :(
I do know some of your old performance videos uploaded from years ago from other furries long ago still exist on the site but that doesn’t erase the heartache of losing something so precious and one of a kind, your channel videos.
I’m so sorry what happened to your channel and sorry I didn’t think to download your videos in the case of an emergency to protect your content. It came as a shock to me too (I’m Alec from Twitter, btw) as I was told by someone else.
I do want you to know I loved your videos and they were pretty wholesome even with my inflation/fatfur kink. So sorry, mate.
Why is it so hard to be a furry in this day and age now...
My sincerest condolences.
Hope you can still treasure what memories you have in your head, where YouTube can't take them :)
*hugs*
Maybe some of your videos will be accessible via way back machine! Or maybe someone saved your videos off of a video ripper somewhere. I really hope you’re able to recover them.
It's, after all, just one website of many out there!
Youtube works on unfair grounds for the majority of people, and unless you have a strong enough following and a team to file on your behalf, Google can and will just shut you down for sneezing the wrong way.
I'm so sorry this happened to you... I hope some way, some how, your channel gets unlocked so you can at least access and download the videos you want. :(
They own the servers. They get to call the shots.
Never trust the cloud and only back up your stuff on your own computer or backup harddrives.
*hugs*
I'm sorry you're having to deal with this Oz, I hope things work out for you however they can.
If Youtube sees this journal and offers your channel back then I see no reason to take said offer.
Now to try and save up for a actual SqueakLatex Suit before they become limited run collectors items.
What we do on the internet can change people's lives, often in ways invisible to us. Thank you for changing mine.
The most shameful part of this is that this had nothing to do with sexual content. They don't care about that. WAP by Cardi B shows extremely graphic, sexual, and often disgusting imagery, involving clear nudity, explicit, vulgar lyrics, and sexual poses and acts throughout - and that is fully monetized.
Not only monetized - it's not even age-restricted. This isn't about being tidy and non-sexual. This is about removing any creator and content that isn't explicitly corporate-approved. This is about silencing and doing away with the people that made this site what it is. You aren't the only person I've seen this happen to lately, and I can't tolerate the despicable husk that YouTube has become any longer.
I think this is finally what will push me over the edge. I've toyed around with Alt-Tech and YouTube alternatives in the past, but given the fact that it's a matter of time until YouTube bans us all off of there purely on the virtue of our interests and thoughts, I think I'll be deleting all of my YouTube accounts, backing up any videos I have, and emailing them to let them know why I'm leaving.
Everyone else can do as they please, but, if you too want to disconnect from Google's monopoly on video content, I'd recommend looking into the alternatives that have begun to come out. I use Odysee the most, as it has the most diverse range of content out of all the video sites I've seen in terms of gaming, art, tech, and other topics. Other alternatives such as BitChute, Rumble, or heck, even Daily Motion at this point would be better.
As a side note, I believe a few of those sites offer video mirroring from YouTube - perhaps there could be some sort of option to recover your videos through them if any archive exists? I've seen a few people I've followed in the past who've left or been banned off YouTube transfer their libraries over, and while I don't know how they did it or if the content creator themselves had the archives, perhaps the companies had some way to help?
In closing, I am very sorry that this happened, and I pray that you can find some way to recover what was lost. I've loved your work for many years, and I remember your character was one of the first that got me interested in the fandom as a whole. Thank you for being such an inspiring and productive member of the fandom for all these years. God bless, and stay strong man.
That being said.
I remember you.
You mean a lot. You were the first inflation artist that I saw that was just plain out funny, not fetishy. I know it might not mean much, after all this, but I didn't view your YT stuff, I watched you here, and the skit with the Genie stuck in my mind all these years and inspired me after you posted it. I love it, it's hilarious! And despite what YT says, it's funny! It inspired me to do inflation work too!
Honestly my hate on YouTube is starting to grow.
I only hope others have downloaded and saved your work for you.
Sadly I have not otherwise I had given them to you.
*Hugs*
When I was just getting into the fandom I have no doubt I came across videos of yours there, one I can still clearly remember is a wish gone awry. "You wish to be in shape?...You didn't specify WHAT shape!"
Hope you can gather up as much as you can
As a dear friend i know things are so hard right now and things seem impossible but i encourage you to not stop what you love doing and use it as a way to fight back and tell the world and everyone who loves you that your not backing down and you will make that comeback.
You have entertained so many of us in this community and i am so lucky to have gotten so close too you and i know many will agree with me when i say your are loved by so many and will continue to be so.
Hang in there man, we are all with you and always will be.
It sucks so much.
I do have some stuff and will begin loading it onto a flashdrive for you. I hope others can save some memories for you, too.
This will hurt, obviously, but it's also a chance to make a new beginning. Your talent is inexhaustible.
I hope you get your videos back.
Sadly youtube and the net is no longer the wild west style frontier it once was as capital/corps cover there ass to protect shares insted of content creators.
Its rough but many find memories will stay in our hearts so thank you for the time to share them with us Oz!
"*BIG Bear belly hugs*"
Thank you for trying your best!
As a longtime FA watcher of yours, I extend my sympathies.
Also fuck YouTube
So at least Duke's channel still not taken down and some few other people's con videos.
Us creators of the furry fandom find ourselves a little oppressed in our creative sparks in recent years due to overly controlling bodies of faith & corporate greed. One of the more recent things being these bloody NFT's ravaging our art communities, just outright making our hard work and efforts near bloody worthless...
Know this though, many of us will always remember the impacts you have made on many communities at large. The visuals and records may be gone, but the memories, and your journey to get you to where you are now remain in many people. And that thought alone may bring you a little bit of solace.

Also, Vimeo seems much more creator friendly. A video of mine youtube slapped me over copyright several years ago has remained undisturbed there.
I hope that helps Oz

It might not mean much from a rando like me, but I sure hope you still find some way to get those old memories back and eventually make new ones.
They should be ashamed.
this is totally not fair!
what happened too are all of the creators who worked extremely hard on those videos?
I think that both Google and YouTube are a bunch of idiots.
Once I got my YouTube account suspended in mid summer 2016 for no reason.
Eventually I got it back in November. And I know that YouTube and google didn't fix the glitch.
I can already tell that many Youtubers are in a riot and are hating Susan wojiski!
She should be fired from YouTube and google. Mean I heck, she was the one who came up with COPPA in the first place! 5 and she's trying to make this site "family friendly"
This is our time to strike! we Should fire Susan, give her the middle finger and say: F***K YOU SUSAN!
I mean people like the ones who work for Youtube are becoming just as more self-centred and just as obnoxious as usual,
and how it is they DON'T want people to see those pesky Dislikes...
Yeah our world is fucked beyond, since now the Lefties, Karens, SJWs and man-childs who has a brain of a chocolate fire-guard come into running business.
How is this even LIFE?? -_-;
edit: Doing the below is a really, really deep hole to dive into, so keep that in mind...
Wayback machine at archive.org should prove helpful for at least locating URLs to videos. I've many times checked profile page archives just to find old videos that became unlisted that I didn't save the link to.
This works for others too, btw, just replace "ozkangaroo" in the URL. The pages to check at web.archive.org for that would be /ozkangaroo, /user/ozkangaroo, /channel/reallylongIDnumber and /profile?user=ozkangaroo. Try checking all the videos linked from those old profile pages and see if archive.org has a copy of them too - and check multiple dates of the same page! Usually, it's only the watch page but not the video - however, some *do* have the video and sometimes it even works. They have a lot of videos, but many of them currently don't work on web.archive.org because they're still sorting out the indexes, or whatever (I'm not an expert, so idk beyond that).
Moreso, even if an archived watch page doesn't have working video... the related section may reveal other videos.
That's everything I know about hunting for lost YT videos on archive.org, ask me if you (anyone) have any questions - it's stuff that's good to know.
When YT was privating all the unlisted videos I grabbed a whole bunch of stuff with youtube-dl... but only unlisted stuff. I was going to keep archiving even after the great privating, but life hasn't let me have enough time, otherwise I might've even saved some of yours =(

"An animal rights charity hit YouTube with a lawsuit on Monday, claiming the platform had failed in its duty to remove videos of animal abuse, The New York Times reports.
The lawsuit was filed Monday by animal rights charity Lady Freethinker, The Times reported. The founder of Lady Freethinker, Nina Jackel, told The Times the charity had been asking YouTube to tackle animal abuse on its platform for 18 months.
Last year, the charity alerted YouTube to 2,000 videos with a combined 1.2 billion views, but as of September, roughly 70% of the videos remained live, Jackel told The Times.
"We've tried to have a meaningful conversation with them multiple times, and been shut down," Jackel told The Times, adding, "We're knocking on the door, and nobody is answering. So this lawsuit is kind of a last straw.""
Thedancingdog channel is still up.
Because you also gave up on the future in lieu of the past.
You gave up on the rest of the community because of YouTube's decision.
You gave up on the next generation of inflation-loving furries.
You gave up on your current and still existing fanbase.
You gave up on bringing joy to anyone ever again.
You could have still done so much but you threw in the towel.
Of course it's a big blow but..quitting entirely because of that?
Makes it sound like you cared more about being seen than actually being a furry. A bit narcissistic.
Maybe it's best you leave if that's the kind of person you are.
