Elden Ring is hardcore though. It's the 2022 incarnation of all those unforgiving NES and 80s PC RPG.

I mean Elden Ring is like a modern version of the old games in terms if difficulty.
The old games didn't have tutorials nor Easy or Hard mode.
It just drops you in the game world and you are on your own.

like i said Darksouls it has a short tutorial that doesn't teach much.
Blood borne no tutorial but functions like dark souls but with guns

-A complete game.
-No Micro Transactions.
-the preorder bonus is just an emote you unlock eventually anyway
-No journalist mode, game tells you to do a thing, you fail, it slaps your shit, then it tells you to do it again until you learn

Quality AAA game?
