Be warned it might just be me and my bank but I've actually had issues with Boosty getting blocked by my bank. Once again this could just be my bank doing this as a one off thing.

By the way, yes, I heard that some clients do experience this. True, I still do not know for what reason, whether it is only in one particular bank, or whether it is an accident that overtakes only a few. So far, no one has written in detail about the problems and their solution, and so far for Russian artists this is the only healthy alternative to Paypal, unfortunately.
We haven't found any other options yet, but we'd love to hear about them)

Ok good to know it wasn't just me and my bank I've been feeling awful I haven't been able to pay an artist I've been working with for a sketch. I'm wondering if it's some countries are really pushing banks to crack down on any transactions going to or coming from Russia and with Boosty being Russian it's just blocking them? Though if you happen to find a solution or if anybody reading this has one I'd live if you could share!

I know we've all been looking for an alt to PayPal's monopoly for years since they're awful to both artists and commissioners hopefully sething pops up.

It's not just you, I was able to put in one transaction about....four hours ago, got blocked for "suspicious activity", then had to call my local bank, who redirected me to corporate. They said they approved it, but nothing I put through since that has actually reached the recipients. I keep getting immediate refunds (Outgoing, then back ingoing within minutes) and can still send money elsewhere, such as canadian banks, etc.

Trying just recently, I was billed 0 USD, but, my account subscribed to auto-payments again, so I know that my bank and paypal both have acknowledged that there was something there

Also, just based on how much the guys tone of voice changed as soon as he read what was "suspicious" on the phone, may be a lot more of us experiencing this than not.

Yeah for me both times I've tried made it though onto my account but was immediately refunded back to me. But it might be a general blocking anything and everything going to or coming from any Russian source whathat so ever?

I got three donations to work via PayPal after struggling, but now PayPal does not work at all with Boosty and provides an error. I have only my card linked to PayPal, so that might be part of it.

Edit: I made the transactions on March 10th. Although paypal shows the actions as complete, my bank still shows pending which is a little strange.

That's really odd that it's still pending even after a full business day, that seems like MAYBE it's just waiting to be declined?

I agree, but I'll probably know today. The transactions were marked with a March 12th date, so they could be under review.

But yeah it seems to be a VERY recent change that's causing this issue and seems to be breaking all transactions. Also it would appear that paying by card they've changed the wording to "Russian bank cards" so things might have changed.

It could very well be a part of that. I am across the border from you, but I heard something about transactions to Russia from Canada being punishable? (There was another comment on FurAffinity that suggested Canadians who keep doing business with Russia could have their assets frozen). I'm guessing that the US and Canada are beginning to look closely at the international transactions to see how effective their sanctions are.

Yeah a friend of mine who's an Assuie tried as well and he was blocked too, so seems like it's not just over in NA it's being blocked. Also yeah since out PM found out he can freeze people's assets I wouldn't be shocked if he starts using that ability more for other things like this.

Yeah always creeps me out, though here our gov controls and sponsors most of our banks vs the US where there's a lot of smaller credit unions
