I generally just like the idea of an already fun Animal or Monster character to get more toony through it. It's playful and has a cute toyish touch. I like how diverse the changes can look like. Some characters have an uneven growth, some become amusing orbs, others may have an added effect based of their texture or filling.
The out of proportion and bigness attributes sure make it for a funny spectacle to behols, though I also think that even if it's just a character inflating regular balloons that can be lots of fun as well. I just like the fun value and the fantastic premise that I see fitting with the already likability of a character's design. Squeaky, tubular, huggable, silly fun that is out of the ordinary. =D

Toony silly fun characters, it almost feels like they fit into the situations too perfectly. Props also are fun to see like balloons and pooltoy props of sorts ^.^

Likely because animated characters simply move often in a more amusing fashion with squishing and stretching going on. Exaggerating that pretty natural to them because of it. As for why I would say that I like it more with such characters as instead for example things animated to look realistic or uses Humans: I feel such things give one some sort of uncanny valley effect sometimes. Always nicer to go all out into the non-realistic shapes and more fantastical characters. Since they already have their own set of physics, they can make the best portrayal of them.
Toy designs are most often already going with the cartoon shapes because of how it's usually easier to go with rounder instead of ridged shapes in them. A toony inflatable or prop can well convey the squeaky appearance while an extremely deteiledly shaped prop would likely fool people moreso in that they are just looking at a statue instead.
While no matter what designs get used, I like the way of how they either give the character fun opportunities in form of different physical features or for that they can have an amusing time through the over the topness that such concepts can affect them with. Definitely going to enjoy it a bunch of times yet to see the surprise with my dear Totodile mascot involved. =3

I'm a sucker for TF combined with inflation, especially when it's coupled with a change of personality or loss of control. Going from fighting and resisting to giving in and enjoying your new, bloated form, wanting to be bigger and bigger.

For the inflation itself, it's all about the lovely, round and shiny shapes - soft and squishy or nice and taut.

I think the gator balloon sequence you did is probably one of my absolute faves, since it combines so many of the things I like.

Gosh that gator balloon sequence is good. Do love when someone becoming something else gets hit with that shock and wants to try and go back to normal with things. Hits on some good levels of variety there <3 Yeah that inflation being right at one of those is good. Sometimes it is just oh so lovely to see such a squishing, other times it is just lovely to see no squish, but to hear those euphoric creaks ^.^

For me, it’s both the humiliation of being stuck all bwoomphy and silly looking, as well as having to figure out how to love around with such swollen features/puffy suits~

Humiliation is one of those things that I deep down do like <3 Because it flares up such a scenario that it is happening while out in a setting that some folks might laugh at what is going on ^.^

The overdoing it sums it up well for me. I enjoy the 'playful helplessness' aspect. The idea that you're losing control as you fill up and up, and eventually reach a point you can't do anything about it. The feeling of becoming stuck in one's self, or put in a silly way of 'my belly is taking my prisoner!', makes me love it. The surreal, silly nature of inflation with the taut smoothness and the 'can't move on all sides' aspect gets me good.

Definitely that point of no return. Paws so big, just can't grab that valve properly or even press a button on a compressor that is humming away. Just such a level of charm that really is like, "You're in for it now!" Goes into that realm of being an endurance test potentially too which is the top buttons for this fox <3

You really summed it up with that "You're in for it now!" Whether that feeling is coming from within or someone saying it, I love that playful, silly 'doom' to it. x3

The increasing immobility as your body turns against you. the creeping sensation that every second your being inflated, is a second you might be too big to stop it.

Until you hit that point of just being unable to stop it. Then well, gotta hope that you can overcome what is happening <3 Honestly though building up to that point can be fun, mainly because you can have the movement slowing with flapping paws, or head tilts to show such building towards that immobility ^.^

Teasing or being teased is fun. Does certainly go with a lot of the inflation scenarios that unfold. Especially when you add in squish and what not ^.^

I personally like that the inflatee becomes so big, round and fluffy that they give the best snuggles.

As I continue loosening up on things I find myself getting into more and more aspects of this silly stuff I'd never thought I would before, but I think a core tenet of it is definitely the loss of control angle, like others have said. Though I also tend to take it in a lot of different ways, things like specific bits like the hands and feet getting poofed leading to only partial loss, since they can still move their main body but the dexterous limbs are pretty useless. And I definitely also may like to take the overall concept way further to where that loss of control even impacts the face and head, being so permeated with air/water/etc that it's hard to fit a coherent thought into their stretched out head, or even move or close their eyes anymore. Basically a sorta roundabout way to tap into the loss of awareness too.

All that causing the subject to basically end up just a big balloon toy to be used as whoever pleases is pretty good too 💦

Yep, can't worry about much when you're a literal airhead, heh. I think I like to imagine it as just a kinda addled/fuzzy feeling, like you're still in there, just really out of it and can't focus very well on anything beyond the raw emotion or feeling that's happening to you in the moment. Guess it's just the usual altered state of consciousness deal by a different method, maybe.

I enjoy the idea expanding larger and larger, and as you do the weightless sensation wells up more and more inside of you until you delicately lift off the ground and float into the air~

Being big and round, taking up all that space and being so huge fit the whole world to see

Toony characters made of ink and possibly rubber, especially if it's a creature with a big fluffy tail, like a skunk or fox. X3

It's definitely a size thing for me. Especially characters that start out slender or small getting puffed up and then getting spoiled by another character and teased about their new size.

Honestly there's just so many different aspects of inflation that I enjoy, it's hard to pin it down to pin it down to one.

For traditional inflation, a large portion of it is definitely that state of helplessness and light objectification. Being tugged along on a string as you float in the air, the air within you letting out low, steady creaks as you drift, and feeling your range of motion so limited as your limbs and head sink into deep indentations in your own body. Not only has your own belly swollen big enough to trap you, someone else is treating you like the balloon that you are, something to admire and bounce around and play with. Along with that overhanging sense of "doom" of popping. Knowing that, should your caretaker choose to, all they have to do is keep pumping you bigger until you burst, and that there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.~
Then there's the comfortable squeezing sensation of being stuck in a big inflatable suit, feeling that vinyl pressing in on every angle, every small movement of yours making the air shift around inside to compress one portion while another blows up slightly bigger, gently massaging you even as you just rock back and forth on your overblown rump.
And, of course, the cartoony and surreal aspect is something I very much enjoy with inflation, especially when paired with another kink like TF or hypnosis~ Having your body *fwoomp* out cartoonishly into something new, like gaining a big smug vinyl snout or overblown rump, or perhaps being hypnotized into just inhaling and inhaling and inhaling so deeply you blow yourself up into a blimp, the absurdity is something that's just wonderfully appealing.~
And then there's enjoying inflation as the inflator vs the inflated. The sensation of an air-filled surface (especially one made of vinyl or a soft silky plushie~) just feels good to relax on, or sink into. Combine that with any other myriad of kinks, like sinking so deeply you can't move around on the perpetually underinflated surface (turning the toy into the dominating party), or having that perfect mix of taut, yet squishy letting you bounce on someone like a trampoline (feeding even more into the playful objectification), there's just so many fun and teasing scenarios you can get yourself or someone else into involving it~ :3

That squeaky and rubberiness is all kinda part of me at a low level I think, hence always latex and air, but there's the stretch, shape, sounds, the growth itself is rerf, it's hard to really loop it all in one!

I adore the helplessness, just the complete lack of control but it feels indescribably pleasurable.

POP! I love when someone gets so big and round that they are merely inching the point where they are going to pop. They struggle to fight it off but they are utterly helpless to the inevitable as their paws are all puffed up. <3

I might be late to this. I guess there are multiple aspects for my like of inflation. I love how carefree and whimsical it is, as its not really grounded in reality or real life physics, but rather cartoon physics and logic. I like the idea of somthing small becoming big but also imagining how light and rubbery it would feel, like somthing to squeeze or even bounce on or have fun with in general. Its also why I draw so many salamanders, because they are normally skinny but they'd feel like rubber to the touch and I imagine they would stretch quite a bit to become natural rubber living balloons. Also helium is like a cheatcode for flying but its not as controllable and you're at the mercy of the wind or whoever has the string attatched to you + all the benefits of being puffed up as a bonus. If it's a particularly cute character then my brain would find it 500% cuter with some added air, as a nice round puffy ball. It really is hard to explain how my brain is wired to like this stuff in words but these are just some aspects i enjoy in particular.

Steadily swelling bigger and bigger, the dwindling mobility and that sense of panic as you find that knob juuuuust out of reach~

I’m a sucker for belly inflation, especially when paired with female 3B (belly, breasts, butt) inflation.

As for the why, I guess it’s from the feeling of size and softness, and maybe even some power and scale X3

And paired with non-popping, it’s a bigger plus for me.

For me, the size and the feelings, knowing the character's getting so full and big and curvier by the second.
The loss of control aspect is fun to an extent but from the inflatee's perspective it's that inconvenience of their expanded size getting in the way of moving around, or even fitting through things like the common doorways, yet it makes them better to hug, squish, and play with!
Even though it's not food the utter fullness of their body should make them satisfied and happy~ And I like it in any fashion, furry and soft, smooth skin that gets rubbery, or scaly and slick, it works in any fashion.
These are the things that I enjoy in inflation stuff.
