In regards to Paws' design for 2022

Is it bad that I wanna add another thing to my oc? I know like
"Paws stop that!-"
Ik ik but like hear me out. I kinda wanna give him an accent color on his underside, just so he doesn't look like a blank slate. I mean if I can't come up with anything I'll just keep him the way he is. I'm just playing around with the concept.
And for the folks I commissioned, do not feel bad, y'all did an epic job!! This literally appeared in a dream last night. Maybe I'll work on something soon. Idk. Rn I'm just conflicted. Thing is, it's bugged me for a solid 4 years, but I'm mostly scared of change. And the fact that my peeps will take the change not too well.
That's kinda why I'm worried. 👉🏼👈🏼
It's kinda like getting your hair cut short, and then the ladies are like:
"why u wanna cut your hair- you're beautiful!"
"Many folks will kill to have thick hair!"
"*cuts it short but not all the way just to keep it sorta long*"
Y'know which kinda people I'm talking about....
Anyways so yea, I'll play with some things and if I don't like it I'm keeping him there.
Its your character that grows with you. if you wanna change them up go for it!

Thing is, I've had people give small make small slide comments like "I won't look at him the same way again" or "I miss your old style better" so a lot of the times I get worried I'll make someone uncomfy with the new shifts.
You shouldn't be worried about their opinions of your character changing. Change is normal for people as they experience or learn new things/concepts. That also applies to redesigning your character. Stepping out of your comfort zone and experimenting with the the things you've gained is a good thing. The people who say those comments are ones who don't want your character to grow how you want it. They don't like change and don't want you to change the character as they are comfortable with his current design. Paws is a very personal character to you and you ONLY. You can change them as you see fit and if people don't like, let them stew over something they have no right to control. I've seen artist fall to this, letting their followers control what they do with their own characters, resulting in disconnecting with their beloved character they made.
Sorry about the rant, I just don't like when people say comments like that to people who are considering changing/redesigning their characters. Its controlling and it stunts the growth of a artist and he character overall. I would love to see what plans you have on his redesign!! :3
But yea I agree! It's good to experiment with change and other concepts. Speaking of. The amazing world of Gumball went through a lot of changes. Fun fact, Gumball was originally a black cat when the Ben went through some of the developmental changes. I'm kinda glad they changed the color to blue. It fits his energy tbh
