So... uhm... you all know by now my reservations about boosty, since... welll... it is what it is. You made me delete the post where i wrote its connections to Putin and whatnot, and i understand, it was basically scaring customers away.
(TL;DR: it's owned by VK whose board of voters majority is held by MFT and MFT is owned by GAZProm who is Yuri Kovalchuk, the actual ownership of the company with the remainder of the voting rights are Alibaba and a bunch of companies who leads upwards to Naspers, which is Bob van Dijk, an "as decent as you can get among the ultrarich" person in the mix, but he is outvoted in the company unless he allies with Alibaba who is Jack Ma who is another "as decent as you can find among those kind of people", and some other subsidiary who decide to vote contrary to Yuri's directions. So in order to not give your money to Putin you need a dutch and a chinese to ally with the few people who still have conscience and guilt and decide to go against Putin's best buddy. Let's leave it at this and not restart the whole reason why i deleted the post... as some people pointed out... it's next to impossible to not find big companies who are not being direct sponsors of Putin in Russia, because Putin would not be where he is without his sponsors... since he was not elected anyway... so finding a company that works in russia and is not in cahoots with Putin is like finding the hay strand in the needlestack 😭 ... and this just becomes a guilt trip as everybody who is not best buddy with putin... is just turning their back to russia in these trying times. And honestly i do not wish to take responsibility for turning away customers from you people right at the time of need.)
But apparently due to the MASSIVE influx of creators, it being basically the "forced choice" as it's the only thing that still works... they are doubling down on the popularity ride.
My (totally unproven and unsubstantiated) guess is that Bob and Jack noticed... and said "screw Yuri" and then guilt-tripped some other subsidiary of Yuri to vote on this under the pretext/pretense of "investing in the future".
Which, «Bob and Jack said "screw Yuri"», sounds like a stereotype-based joke, but it's actually the real names of those people. This is so bad it's perfect. 🤣👍💖💯
Bottom line: a lot less money will go directly into Putin's pockets from you using it (for now).
Sooo uh... yeah? It's looking better (for now) and you (as creators) get more money in return.
Still... something needs to be done about Putin.
