I kinda hate the people who keep calling it "Artificial Intelligence" there is nothing intelligent about it. It cannot even learn.

I understand you, there are those who mistakenly believe that by making images with AI they are already true artists, but those images have many errors, AI has many limitations and does not understand concepts such as perspective, proportions, pose, depth and logic to recreate a scene 100%. Only true artists know that.

It's as "intelligent" as any tool i have ever seen, it's like saying you are a carpenter because you own a planer.

Thinking you are an artist because you can prompt AI is like thinking you are an artist because you can "prompt" a commission to people.

With the main difference that when you commission people there is dialogue and you can learn from the artist and actually gain some competence as a commissioner by learning to create the needed references.

There is no dialogue with AI, you either already have competence and then you can select what you need and modify it yourself but then you learn nothing nor do get better.

You are quite right in what you say. People who use AI do not understand that they are not making artistic progress as they are led to believe, they are only fooling themselves.
Although I try to draw for myself, I have rarely requested commissions from other artists, and as you said, at least in a request like this there is a dialogue and an exchange of ideas.

Precisely, there is no growth as a person in just writing prompts for a make-believe artificial "intelligence" that's not intelligent and cannot learn.

People are only fooling themselves. The video above does a pretty good explanation of how AI works and as you can see it's just a denoiser.

This is 70 years old tech used in a new and inventive way, which would be rather interesting on its own (for the achievement) if not for the fact that there is a bunch of toxic people who think they are making other people's work irrelevant and (of all the things) it's artists.

This is like... the opposite of what this should be used for. If anything there should be a way to use it to help artists or to make art better for the artist.

I mean the idea that started the video above above is how to make tiles that form 2 images when rotated which (in itself) is very cool.

And it makes me very mad that people took something I like (artificial intelligence and robotics) to make this thing (which right now is a badly named barely alpha stage "tool") and use it to harm artists.

You have reason to be angry, there are people on the internet who believe that AIs will replace artists, but they are wrong.

To be honest, the work you do is beautiful and manages to convey emotions, it shows that a true artist knows how to give soul to his works.
