Referring to my scalesona: do I use "I" or "he"?
What's Reptu up to this time?
I've been asked this, and I wish I had a definite answer. My best response is that I use both, depending on the context. I've got to sort this out, because it can be confusing. So don't worry if you get it wrong when talking about Reptu, if you use "you" or "he." Like I said, it's confusing, and either will work. Both are fine with me.
Whatever I write in this journal, I may change in the future.
When I use 3rd Person "he/his/him"
If it's me describing how I made the image that I'm submitting on here (like talking about lighting, composition, 3D modeling, etc.) I'll use "he/him" for Reptu. This is just me talking about my art from a technical, and perhaps career-centered standpoint. This is tricky to describe, but this is the best way I can put it: it's not like Reptu is a god in his own world where whatever he draws affects the world he lives in. Like, he can't draw himself a new friend, and that creation becomes living flesh and bones, just like him.
With that being said, Reptu does have a story, that I do not have in real life. Reptu is this treasure hunter in this fantasy world with his friends Sailz and Impax. When I describe that story, I use "he/him." Also, it would be weird to say that I am friends with Sailz and Impax when they aren't real people.
When I use 1st Person "I/my/me"
However, you guys are real people. That dragon is me, in this anthro world we've created online (and in-person at furry cons). When I'm interacting with you, like messaging you in the comments, I imagine myself as Reptu, and I imagine you as whatever sona you have.
Also, when I RP, I'll definitely use "I." I want to be hugged as a friendly cartoon dragon, and I want to be hugging whatever animal character you are. Also, I'd like to be called cute as my dragon self, that I do have all those features like the cyan skin, the nose horn, and the floppy tail.
To summarize, I use "I" to take pleasure in the fantasy where I am a sweet, awkward dragon, where I get to meet animal characters that I did not create, and I don't get to decide what they're like, you.
You know what, this is why it's confusing: Reptu is part of two anthro animal worlds: the world where I control where Reptu is a treasure hunter with his friends Sailz and Impax, and the world I don't control right here on FA with you guys, all of us being animal versions of ourselves. So when it's my story world, I use "him" and when it's this FA world with you all, I use "I."
Yeah, this journal is interesting, because I had to dig in my brain for answers and scenarios. Let me know how you go about referring to your own sona; I'm curious.

FA+

And I actually have a question for you later about your scalesona that has been on my mind for a few days. I'll ask you about it later on Discord next time we chat if that's alright.
How I refer to my sona... Uhhhh. With my current lore that I have planned out, that might be complicated... Ghosty's main form is a Ghost Dragon that is a combination of Ghost Dragons of himself representing various emotions, with the blue one being the actual one and whatnot, it- well-
Wow, I actually need to think about this- because if the Ghosts are him- and yet their own person- yet in combined form-
Hmmm... Ghosty and all is entirely male so I guess I, They, Them, Him, His, It (Depending if I give the ghosts actual names besides the emotion they represent)
Sure, Ghosty. That's fine.
Oh yeah, you've told me about that. That's a fascinating dynamic, that one Ghost is the actual Ghosty. Haha, I could see the paradox: "because if the Ghosts are him- and yet their own person-" Wow, I thought I was only one that needed to ponder about this question, but I think your situation has an extra level to this, actually.
I often get confused about that myself, but i mostly refer to my sona in 3rd person, as i concider Drёma a separate being from myself (Sorta?).
But at the same time, he's my sona, i appear as him to others on the internet, and in rp.
I usually try to adapt to each person, if they refer to Drёma as "you" i will refer to Drёma as "I", and the opposite happens if they use "He".
When I think about it, it's easier to refer to your sona mostly in 3rd person, as you do. That way, it removes the ambiguity which comes with "I."
And yes, I do think of you as a weasel. That smug smile of yours is so iconic.
