Somewhat, but if them publicly admitting that they didn't even research the games doesn't scream "total garbage", I don't know what does. It's like the Disney Starcruiser hotel and Amazon's LOR: Rings of Power put together. They've completely defenestrated the lore.

The real lesson here is that Hollywood & corporate America are unapologetically biting the hands that feed them: their own customers. They don't care about producing quality product, they don't care about fans at any dedication level, they don't care about consumers, and the worst part is that they are doing this intentionally & stubbornly--they are unmoved by our pushback and are doubling down instead of being reasonable by actually listening & rectifying.

THE SILVER TIMELINE they're calling it yeah. Something which, isn't even mentioned in the show itself. IMO them saying "Alternate Universe" is just industry code for Ignoring the characterization and lore in order to tell the story they want regardless of the damage it causes to the original content @_@

ya it has 52% on RT. is there any redeeming factors? a lot of the time first seasons in shows don't go so well..... or even the second and third.

The shooty shoots action scene at the start was... ok'ish. But if you're a fan of the franchise and even have some memory of the games, then you're likely going to feel upset with how masterchief is characterized.

Bruh Star Trek movies had an alternative time line but at least they kept things as a whole similar.
Halo’s “alternative timeline” is more like “we got the characters names right”
NONE of the characters have the personality right as their originals lol it annoyed me.
The only thing I have to say look good is the set pieces/armors (except for the elites)

The elites seemed too bulky for some reason and their Armor even seemed off as well. @_@

Husband says the elites looked more like the Brutes than Elites. The way they walked was more straight up and how big they were.
MCs voice from the show bothered me and my husband. Master chiefs voice isn’t that deep raspy voice like the game and the show he talked a lot. MC game had short quick answers. Blunt. “Sir, finishing the fight” was probably his longest line in the game 😂

It’s kind of one of those things that I want to see how this goes but it bothers oh so MUCH how they wrote all the characters like the Keyes’ and Doctor Halsey.
Still so far I gave the episode like a 2/10 lol

John-117 wasn't stupid, he was just more tactically-minded and was (like the other spartan-II's) emotionally stunted.

And the short dialogue makes the times he speaks several sentences hit all the harder.

when I heard they were doing their own take on it I knew that it'd end up being trashed by fans... the people you NEED to support the IP for stuff like this or else it's just a waste of money. I also was just "lol no" on getting yet another streaming service.

I was okay with like having 3-4 max. Disney was an obvious one because of how much IP they got and their high levels of greed. But all we really needed was like one for just movies, one for TV shows, and one anime focused one. I _HATE_ how all over the place netflix is because I can never figure out what I want to watch. it's as bad as cable TV was with hundreds of channels and nothing to watch.

God yeah.. it all went to shite when companies started pulling their stuff off of netflix. Now all the other stream services are pulling this garbage of drip feeding content on a weekly basis just to encourage subscription consistency.

I haven't even watched it (cuz where TF can I even watch it in Canada?), but from what I've been hearing from news articles and YouTube content creators, it's not even worth watching, period.

Gonna have to watch it when it comes to a place where I actually have a subscription. Netflix, even Amazon Prime.

I bet if it was done by the people who made Forward Unto Dawn, or Landfall, it would have been a smash stellar hit, as opposed to whoever made this garbage without referencing the source materials.

With how poor the characterization is I'd recommend against watching it because it's just upsetting seeing masterchief treated this way @_@

Never watched GoT myself personally. I don't consider myself having high standards when it comes to writing but even I felt like everything in the first episode was rather brainless and poorly thought out. Some choices are just.. so fucking extreme it makes no sense.

Like the survivor that Masterchief saves from the colony. While they're transporting her back to command on the pelican, they have some nervous looking whelp trembling to ask this Teenage girl if she'd help them try to unify the colonies by making a speech to the other colonies. The teenage girl says no.

Now .. instead of trying to talk to her again... or make any kind of offer... or even just.. detain her when they reach command.... They decide "it would be a shame if she succumb to her injuries while en route to command." and they then send masterchief an order in his helmet to ASSASSINATE THE CHILD.

All I saw was an AK that wasn't even firing blanks. Good times.
