Russian troops pulling back, Finnland to join NATO
3 years ago
According to ukrainian sources, russian forces suffered heavy losses in the north east and are partially pulling back as a result.
both ukrainian sources and british intelligence report that ukrainian forces have begun attacking russian targets in occupied areas. a russian military vessel was sunk with several others damaged.
Turkey is closing down the Bosporus river for commercial use after fishermen discovered a sea mine. russian sources claim that ukrainian sea mines that mined the harbor of Odessa came lose and are now adrift in the black sea. considering the russian habit of blatantly lying about the state of the war and deliberately targeting civilian targets to slaughter innocent people however, it seems more likely that the sea mines are in fact russian and just another display of russian cruelty towards civilians. if the last month has proven one thing, its that russia and its president Wladimir Putin cannot be trusted.
Russia threatened both Finnland and Sweden that attempting to join NATO will be considered a hostile act of war and met with military response.
Finnland, which had to fight and fend off an invasion by soviet russia during World War 2, has now officially applied for NATO membership, a process that will likely require several months to be completed. Finnland's president Sauli Niinistö has warned his people for increasing russian military aggression along the finnish-russian border as well as possible russian cyberattacks against Finnland.

The BALLS on those lads.
Russia: "If you join NATO, we'll declare war on you, Finland!"
Finland: "Well we weren't really looking to get Karelia back, but if you're offering…"
About time, Helsinki; about damn time.
Oh, and Russia's trying to take a pot shot at TURKEY?!?!? Russia and Turkey have fought about as many wars against each other as England and France did during the Dark and Middle Ages, and I bet the Turks have been waiting for another shot at the Russians: Those two countries have been battling each other since the 14th Century!
Not to mention Turkey is part of NATO...
Or killed in a mysterious, unexplainable explosion?
Or sniped on the balcony of his mansion?
With none of his underlings willing more able to offer an explanation as to why and how their “glorious leader” suddenly dropped dead?
I would say from the way things are looking membership for both Finland and Sweden is quite likely though for sure.
