Occasionally when I look at my screen name I'm reminded of not only the game in which I created it but also the final line in said game. The game is Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest/USA and the line is: "That's (character name) you nut."

Tristan was an absolute chore to be in a party of two with.

One of my friends borrowed my copy because one: he wanted to beat it and two: we were always curious what would happen if you purchased the elixir from him at the beginning. The answer to that question: you spend a crap load of time grinding money to buy an elixir which in turn makes you way overpowered and he joins you anyway and still takes the Dragon Claw.
Also one of my all time favorite final bosses only because you can open the fight by using cure on him and do like 10 billion damage instantly killing him in the process.

Many, MANY lines - one that comes up more often than not (because it fits the description of my character as well) is one from The Golden Girls.

Never mind TV lines, I've got entire episodes of the radio version of The Hitch-Hiker's Guide To The Galaxy on semi-instant recall. Of course, the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy defines the marketing division of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as "a bunch of mindless jerks who will be first against the wall when the revolution comes"... almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea.

Interestingly enough a future edition of the guide that fell back through a time warp defined the marketing division of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation as "a bunch of mindless jerks who were the first against the wall when the revolution came."

I am right there with you in having a whole bunch of that series memorised. Here I am, brain the size of a planet...

I find "Blake's 7" another recallable source of random quotes, especially those courtesy of Villa and Avon:

Lmao, I re-watched some UFO earlier this year and it's wild some of the stuff that's in that show.

What's really odd is that, obsessed as I am with "The Scottish Play", when the lines are playing inside my head, I always "hear" the lines in certain voices, even if, irl, those same performers never played that particular role! Take Lady Macbeth, I always, ALWAYS "hear" her lines in Katherine Hepburn's voice! After exhaustive research, I can't find any indication she ever played Lady Macbeth, but I can't think those lines without that unique, nasal, slightly sneering back-bay Boston accent! "My hands are of your color, but I shame to wear a heart so white! ... The sleeping and the dead are but as pictures! It is the eye of childhood that fears a painted devil!" And I always "hear" Macbeth himself as John Carradine.

I don't tend to associate a particular performance with lines from plays, but maybe that's because my first exposure to them was reading them, rather than 'seeing' them performed. Though, I'm a big fan of both the adaptations of Twelfth Night starring Parminder Nagra and Imogen Stubbs as Viola.

"Sounds like a plan." - Which is apparently from a TV series I never saw.

"Sounds like a plan" is specific to a TV show? I thought it was just a pretty common phrase! And Home Improvement was never really a thing that showed over here, but I know a bunch of folks who definitely reference it a lot. :)

Apparently, the phrase originated on The A-Team.

I first heard it while operating a friend's model railroad. Had to spot some cars at specific industry spurs, and I talked it over with my co-operator. When we agreed to an idea, he said "sounds like a plan. We'll do it anyway."

Ahhh! I knew that show growing up, but I don't think I ever watched it. Not in a purposeful attempt to avoid it, just that I was limited in how much TV I was allowed to watch per day until I was like, 14-15.

One that I've never been able to forget was a random background joke in the comic series 'Promethea.' At the time, the mayor of New York was possessed by demons, and his approval rating was skyrocketing. A radio news announcement went, "Affirmative action groups cheered the mayor's statement that he would bring 'A new era of blackness' to the city..."

Never come across that comic before!

Haha, while there are a few dated sketches (as is the case with most comedy after a period of time) I do still recommend checking out Monty Python, especially the movies. The Spam sketch is still one of my absolute favourites. :)
