I caught covid >_<

I got it from my mother who got a "really bad flu" and then didn't fucking quarantine herself away from me. At one point, when she was the most contagious, she was literally in my room, picking at french fries I had gotten from some take out ... TO GIVE TO THE DOG! I'm on the mend, back to work on Friday... because I have to make up coverage for people covering me since we don't have the staff for me to be sick.
The take away is that the virus is still out there and there are still stupid people who don't know how "germs" work.

Hope you feel better very soon, and thanks for the heads up. It's easy to get complacent now, and reminders like this are valuable to everyone's health.
Yea, my dad and step mother invited me over to their house when they were at their sickest with a bad flu. I then got a covid booster 5 days later, then got sick with the flu at the same time as the booster effects hitting me. Luckily, I have a strong immune system, and the virus (flu) was destroyed within 3 days. The booster just amplified the issue that one day during the mixed effects of the two hitting me at once.
I'm vaccinated as well as my parents but that's why my mother didn't think it was covid at first. I feel I got over it relatively quickly. The fever was low grade but lasted several days. The first night I felt like I was hit with a bus. The following days, it was all the post nasal drip and stuffy nose nonsense including all the raw irritation that went with it.
the Pfizer vaccine is much better than the J&J. If you got the one booster, you should be fine. If you want to get it as another layer of security, that's your choice.
