Suspension Lifted!

Well, that was a stressful few days!
A few days ago one of my submissions was removed and I was suspended from FA for a week, due to it "depicting a minor engaged in sexual activity", even though all characters I draw are aged up to over 18. I was also give a Final Warning, despite this being the first issue I've ever had in twelve years of having this account, which I think is what stressed me out more than the one-week timeout.
I wrote an appeals email to FA, and this morning they determined that I was "penalized erroneously", and my account access was restored.
Still, have to say it's shaken my faith in FA. I strongly encourage everyone to give me a follow over on my Twitter, so that way you can keep up with me if anything else happens to my page here.

I'm assuming the problem here is "...aged up to over 18." characters. As contentious as it is, a majority of people in the fandom view under-age characters that are 'aged up to 18', to still be considered minors. Despite them being, you know, fictional characters that technically never age. And the whole point of 'aging up' a character like that is to, literally, make them an adult, so that you *CAN* write and draw more adult content about them without being a fucking pedophile.
While I personally have 0 interest in the content, I'm definitely on the side of, 'If you are aging the character up to 18, then it is because you clearly have something wrong with the idea of the character being a child.'
Like, I do not know how other people can misconstrue that. Also, consider the context. Let's say, you are around the age of 10-15 during the time the original Pokémon series aired in the U.S.A, and develop a crush on, idk/idc. Misty or some shit.
all the characters from that show literally DO NOT age. So, while you grow up and continue to have that appreciation for that character you had a crush on, the character literally cannot age. And because you aren't a pedophile, you like the aged-up version of the character as an adult.
That seems pretty straightforward to understand to me, and most people I've talked to. But there's a circuit of people in the fandom that 100% believe that this concept is identical to pedophilia. I can't say I know their argument well though. From what I've heard, it's a lot of 'Well, if you still like the character for some reason, then you must be attracted to their child-like traits', which... again, aging up the character by-and-large erodes that. A lot of times, it's just adult versions of characters wearing iconic outfits from the shows or games. That tells me it's a lot more based in the actual aesthetic of the character, not anything to do with their behavior or mannerisms being 'childlike' in any regard.
