This has been the situation on twitter for ages. As an outsider, i am happy if things become equalised for both sides as twitter has become the public square.

I don't know about it "Siding with the political leanings of those who run the platform", but my exact point was that those things are bad enough now. It will be interesting to see if it gets any better, or if with his "Free speech absolutism" it gets even worse. It remains to be seen how much actual influence over the platform he actually has. After all, he's already pretty occupied with a couple of other businesses.

Is he anti porn? I don't think I ever heard that about him. Twitter was formerly owned partly by a saudi prince, among others, though, so I'm not *too* worried about porn disappearing. Especially after banning porn killed Tumblr.

i don't know if he'll go after porn - i think he's more likely to open it up for more things, and unban a lot of people

I don't want to get SUPER down the rabbit hole, but the worst thing he could do would be to turn down the volume spread of political ads for people he doesn't agree with, and turn up the volume of ads for people of his choice. He'd have the ability to not only do that, but do it in secret

Well it seems like that's a thing that's already been happening when it was in the hands of Jack, and whoever the current CEO was before he bought it.

He did mention in a tweet that he hops is critics stay, so IDK maybe everyone regardless of viewpoint can actually have a voice now.

I'm honestly not sure what the future for twitter will be, I never intended to go on there in the first place because even before he bought it, it was a toxic cesspool where anyone who didn't match the opinions of others seemed to get targeted.

I do hope of course for artists on there nsfw is maintained, and of course at the same time equal accountability for both sides when they do stupid crap, aside from it happening mostly to one side.

Hopefully a more balanced approach. I'm not sure if I'm even gonna get a twitter account, but for the first time (assuming things go well) I might actually consider it this time.

In the end however we really don't know what's gonna happen. But hopefully things do improve
