This is some sad and pathetic attempt to distract the masses from
their inconvenient involvement in international child trafficking. (post 2010 Haitian earthquake).

Almost instantly after he did, shitloads of people began reeing because... he said he'd permit free speech. And many places in the world are not scrambling to try and ban twitter.
huh... wonder why?
if that actually does happen... here's hoping for a domino effect across the internet.
but then again... EU warns Elon Musk over Twitter moderation plans: https://archive.ph/IjnXx
oh, and remember to walk on eggshells if you comment on ars technica as i found out a few minutes ago saying that most horrid of "slurs" that starts with a t and ends with a y along with listing off the facts everyone knows to be true about transgender people is ground for a permaban. the activists have claimed ars technica.
they didn't even have the decency to send me an email notification. i only found out when i went to my gmail to try and stop the comment reply notifications...WHICH REQUIRES YOU TO LOGIN!
I wonder if any of these morons know that when people get banned over this shit, it breeds very much bias against these people...
i'm sick and tired of having to self-censor and sanitize my speech on top of walking on eggshells so as to not offend anyone who i know for a fact will, at the slightest hint of opposition, whine to said moderators to get me banned.
i'm of not having actual free speech all across the internet. where i'm expected to live in fear of being banned because i said something another person disapproves of or that i hurt someone else's fragile emotions.
people think that i'm primarily speaking of the US's constitutional right of free speech when i say this sort of stuff. i'm not. i'm talking about the very concept of free speech itself. the ability to say anything you want, wherever, whenever, to whomever you want.
that, currently, does not even exist as a concept on the internet. the only thing we have on the internet is restricted, manipulated, controlled, and filtered speech.
say the wrong thing to the wrong person and you get banned.
is that not the exact opposite of free speech?
that's what i hope elon will change with twitter. i am hoping he will make it so people can actually speak freely without fear of being moderated or banned for doing so.
and no, blocking someone on the internet isn't anti-free speech. they can still say whatever they want. you just don't have to see it...or at least that's how things SHOULD work. but realistically, most of the internet doesn't even have a properly functioning "block list" system in place. most sites and platforms use a half assed block list system that prevents the person you block from DM/PMing you but doesn't block anything else.
oh, SURE, it puts a toggle on the blocked persons comments and forum posts but is that really blocking them? no, it isn't.
a proper, fully functional, block list system should work like this: prevent both you AND the person you block from seein ANY of each others profiles. block BOTH parties content from view on both sides. AND block DM/PMing between both of you.
you know, actually block the person in question for real?
the internet as it is right now, in regards to communication, is so fucked up in its design and functionality...
