Hey! yes, I'm still in Odessa, and I don't know what to do next..
the prospect of staying here seems not bad, because here I found inexpensive comfortable housing, and the city is very convenient. but the missile threat is still high and it's scary.. Russia has big plans for Odessa so they won't let it go that easy.

now I'm still looking for a new home, but I would like to get good conditions for the same money that I pay now. so far I haven't found anything good.
Let's just say that when I was in Popasna, I didn't have the opportunity to choose. where to go and where to live. but now I'm in a relatively quiet place, so I don't want to go back to the bad life :(

I'll bet rentals/houses/recently cleared lots are really cheap in Severodonetsk & Lysychansk right now and the conditions there would probably remind you of home (I am not serious but I guess that shows there is always someplace worse). You could probably get a good deal in Kharkiv and become the first FA member to be listed in all three regional Journals (again, Odessa sounds like a better choice).

Actually, Odesa sounds like a fairly nice place if it were not for all the pesky invasive migratory 'birds' and their explosive tempers. Other than the risk of 'angry birds' deciding to roost near you, it should be ok there until the battle for Severodonetsk & Lysychansk gets resolved, from what I've read Russia doesn't have the manpower to open up another major battle on a different front right now. It is definitely worth having an escape plan and keeping a bag packed, but beyond that it may be better to not worry about what might happen.

 Viskasunya is still in Odesa and if you haven't done it yet, you might need to read her Scraps to understand all the 'bird' and 'angry bird' jokes.

I understand that I should be a little more restrained in my desires, because someone is now worse off than me.
I may have misunderstood.. I mean, for example, now I rent two rooms (one for me and my husband, the second for our moms) with good conditions for $150. but I looked at the sites with ads, and one-room apartments start at 180 dollars, while with bad conditions. I just don't see the point AT THE MOMENT to change the best option for something worse, given that the situation is extremely unstable ALL OVER UKRAINE. And "angry birds" fly even to those cities where no one expected them (the recent shelling of Lvov or Chernivtsi, or Zhytomyr - these are the options that we considered earlier).

Here is some good news. A fairly reliable major war analyst group thinks that the Battle of Severodonetsk is likely to be the last major Russian offensive. The entire 28 May 2022 article below is interesting, especially because this organization is typically very restrained in its wording and predictions.
