ANTICIPATED MOVIES OF 2022

General
Better late than ever ^^ Wrote this at the beginning of the year but never thought to post it here XDScream - It's Scream 5. Please call it Scream 5. Calling it just Scream is stupid. It doesn't make it stand out as the definitive Scream for a new generation. All it does is much up my DVD/BluRay shelf. But I am looking forward to it when I get around to watching it with Katney as we've enjoyed every Scream as a couple so far and Scream 4 was a good return to form for the series. Yes, a bit of trepidation since it's Scream without Wes Craven but still, I can but hope ^^
Death on the Nile - Armand Hammer controversy aside, Murder on the Orient Express was a great time which balanced a really large cast well and that's no mean feat. That gives me hope that this cast will give us a show that will surprise even those of us who have seen other version of this story already been played out. And while no Sir David Suchet means it isn't MY Hercule Poirot, Branagh did the character justice before so I see no reason he won't do it again here ^^
Marry Me - Maybe not MOST anticipated but introduces more varity to my movie viewing expierence. Probably one to watch with Katney as well since she knows the source material... Still I am going to support it because I like the thought of it kicking off more unique webcomic movies X3
The Batman - While I am not a fan of the "DCEU" movies and I was hoping for a Batman film that give us more of the fantastical than the "gritty real world" we seem to have gotten stuck in, it's still a Batman movie. And lets face facts, so rare to have a story that focuses on the detective part of Batman which is a defining part of who he is. But I ain't updating my Riddler cosplay for it ^_~
Turning Red - It's Pixar. Nuff said XD
Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre - A Spy Comedy directed by Guy Ritchie with Jason Statham and a pretty stacked cast. Should have some great dialog, some pretty hard hitting action and stylisty shot. Ritchie is a director who is good even on an off day so should be a fun time. Trailer is fun too X3
The Lost City - On the edge of my radar is a jungle romping advanture by the Nee Brothers who I am only just finding out about... Why am I only finding about the NEE Brothers now?! X3 Trailer looked like some silly fun and has Daniel Radcliffe as a villain it seems and I want more of that! XD
Everything Everywhere All at Once - The power of an eye catching poster at work here... I went from knowing nothing about this movie to making sure I have a day one ticket in just over three minutes. A stunning concept, a really interesting trailer and who doesn't love Michelle Yeoh?! GOOGLY EYES FOR THE WIN!
Morbius - Some trepidation here since I am still on the fence with how Sony have been making their Spider-man live-action movies. Venom and Venom:LTBC weren't how I saw the characters in my mind and subtracting Spider-man from their stories are a hard sell for me but with Michael Keaton attached, I know I have to see at the cinema if the cinemas are open XD
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 - The first Sonic movie, I was scared going in. How could a video game movie of a franchise I grew up obcessed with ever measure up considering the state of video game movies in general? It managed it! How?! I do not know but it did and now I trust them with the sequel. THEY EVEN MADE THE MADE FOR THE MOVIE HUMAN CHARACTERS CHARACTERS I WANT TO SEE MORE OF!
The Bad Guys - I called dibs on this one the second I saw the teaser image X3 It was like a race only I was running to call this as one of my movies for Movie Dates with Katney XD When making this list, it was originally a "Most Anticipated Movies" list and this was one of the few non-franchise movies that made the top five. See the trailer and buy your ticket XD April can't get here fast enough
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent - Nicolas Cage as Nicolas Cage... I couldn't wish for anything else in a movie XD
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness - Oh big shock of shock, MCU movies are on the list. Honestly, the biggest surprise is it has taken until May to get to the next MCU film.
Lightyear - It's Pixar. Nuff said XD
Minions: The Rise of Gru - I have been on board the Despicable Me movies since the first one and while I know it has it's detractors with the over exposed Minions being seen as annoying, this is my list so it's here ^^ I have a lot of fun memories of watching these films with my family so I am looking forward to continuing that trend with them whenever a new entry comes out.
Thor: Love and Thunder - Taika Waititi proved with Ragnarok that the way to film Thor is to embrace the epic 80's metal opera it was destined to be. We have the return of Natalie Portman as Jane in what should be a MUCH MUCH more juicer role. Only thing I would have changed is calling it Thor Four because I like the alliteration play ^^
Bullet Train - A film set in the confines of, as the title implies, a bullet train with five assassins going after their targets sounds pretty fun but what sells this is the director. David Leitch has directed John Wick, Deadpool 2 and Nobody proving the man knows how to shoot actions!
Samaritan - Can't say too much about this one since all I know is Sylvester Stallone is playing a retired Superhero but it's on here because well... Sylvester Stallone is playing a retired Superhero ^^
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish - It has been over a decade since the last movie in the franchise so, TV shows and specials aside, it's high time we got more of the fantastic feline in fashionable footwear. We need more of Antonio Banderas beautiful voice flowing from the part he was born to play XD
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) - Did you see Into The Spider-verse? If not, stop reading this, go watch the Oscar winning movie and then come back and agree it should be on your own anticipated movies list.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - As an MCU movie, I am going to see it as soon as I can when it is out but unlike other Marvel movies this one is going to be hard to watch. The loss of Chadwick Boseman hangs over this movie whether they recast T'Challa or not but it is important that the stories of these characters that mean so much to so many carry on. It is a shame we will never see the movie we should have seen with him leading the rest of the cast onward to bigger and better things but we can only have the movies we have and it's important to enjoy those for what they are, not what they could have been.
She Said - This is anticipated unless the trailer under delievers. It is one of the most important stories that hit the entertainment industry in recent memory and should be treated with the care such things warrant.
Avatar 2 - All I can say is... IT'S ABOUT TOASTING TIME! This is a movie that should have been out a decade ago but if there is a film maker that make a ten year wait worth it, it's James Cameron ^^
ADDITIONAL 2022 MAYBEKnives Out 2 - I heard it was gonna be out but no confirmed reports of a release date so yeah I don't know for sure. All I know is I will be watching it when it comes out ^^

Interesting list, but no Bob's Burgers: The Movie?
Shockingly while I am a fan of Archer, I have never got into Bob's Burgers ^^ Not that I dislike it... Just I never paid it enough attention

Of this list, I have seen 'Sonic 2' and 'The Bad Guys', and I will tell you this, in the non-spoileriest way possible: I'm quite certain you'll find them to be well worth the watch.
