On Tracing/referencing my work
I’ve noticed some people on here tracing and heavily referencing my artwork and I just wanted to make a statement about this (this is not a call out and I will not link anyone to this person, I don’t like harassing people over this kind of thing)
I don’t mind people referencing my artwork, but I just please ask if you are planning on referencing my artwork, please ask first. I will almost definately say yes, but I would just like the respect of being asked if my work is going to be used in that kind of way.
I also don’t mind if people trace my work, but please only do so if you’re using it to learn. Don’t trace my art to sell it to others. And PLEASE do not trace commissioned art of mine that someone else has paid for. It’s not only disrespectful to me, but also to my commissioner who paid for that art.
I am incredibly patient and understanding, but many artists are not as patient as me about this sort of thing.

Tracing one's work isn't a reliable way to improve your art skills anyway :O

That’s not nessisarily true. Tracing can be incredibly helpful if you’re breaking down the basic shapes and trying to learn proportion. It’s when you’re 1 for 1 copying every line down to the detail that it becomes deterring.
