Doing better

So on the day my grandfather died I went to see what was left of him. Said my goodbyes, which brought me peace. I wanted to say goodbye before… well my mom said she was with him and still wanted more time, and that it’s never enough, which brought me to accept I would feel the same regardless if I was with him for a month or not at all.
I had trouble whenever I didn’t have something to distract myself, because I couldn’t help but think of him. I stayed up until I felt like passing out and slept with the light on that night, but not the next.
I’ve been socializing more, and my friends have been comforting me. With each day the thoughts occur less, though they still afflict me. At least I’m fully functional and going to try to get those commissions done (two slots are still open btw).
His funeral is next week, and I’m ready for that. It’s just going to be… different now that he’s not around. It’s like a little light was lost from the world.
And thank you all for your condolences over the past 3 days.

Glad you're feeling better man.

It gets better once you gone to the funeral. Or at least get better. Can't speak for anyone on that, but it did help me. Losing someone close is painful, but as long as you have them in memory and/or heart, they are never far away.
