I think most people use paypal, but the reason you might be seeing a lot of non-paypal commissions is because paypal is currently blocked in Russia and there are A LOT of Russian artists. They are mostly using Boosty now, because it has an integration with paypal so it is still easy for paypal users to use.

I think all this "blocking Russia" is so stupid, the people aren't the ones doing all the negative, its their gov.

I wouldn't personally recommend moving to boosty if you don't have a reason to. Paypal (and most banks) did block Russia pretty early on, but at this point it is federally mandated (I work in the payments sector and had a lot of insider knowledge when the government began making these changes).

Yeah what Baker above me said. Paypal is still the dominant payment method from what I've seen. Some artists have been forced to move to boosty if they live in Russia, and I've seen some moving to Cashapp as well if they're in the US and looking for a different option.
