Major Life Change: Building Purchase Update
3 years ago
General
Here is an update on the major life change I have going on right now.
As a reminder, I am in the process of purchasing a piece of commercial real estate to preserve the future of my mother's bookstore which I also work at, whom I also live with.
After the enormous fight to get the deal pushed through, it looks like it will finally happen with an expected closing date of Tuesday, June 21. Unless something trips me up again between now and then, it will finally be over and the building will be in my name.
Aftermath
I had to pull a lot of strings and put a substantial amount of hard work into this to make it happen. And once it is mine, sadly, my life isn't going to improve too much in the immediate future.
I'll be badly in debt with personal loans expected to take about 1/4 of my income and the building itself will take another 1/2. To make this agreement happen, I had to pledge putting together a large emergency fund of about 3 months worth of expenses. After that, I need to start putting money aside for income taxes which I've neglected the whole year to make this deal happen. I expect this whole purchase will put me in a higher tax bracket as well.
Also, the building is in need of considerable renovation, and a large amount of it I have to personally do to save money.
How I lived for the last three months on almost nothing and laboring 80% of my waking time 7 days a week looks like it will continue for the rest of the year.
The good thing is that it means you'll see tons of art of all sorts made and posted! The bad thing is that I won't be able to commission at all. I still have a decent amount of commissions I bought to post so hopefully the will tie us over until my income stabilizes.
I have a lot to gain doing this whole process, but it will take a lot of work to get through it. I commented to a few people that it will push me harder than I would have otherwise and should make my overall life better at the end of it.
Thank you for reading y'all! I really appreciate it. I'm trying to catch up on messages/comments and such. I'll get to them eventually!

Though yeah the sheer amount going towards it and how much you need to work to make it work is certainly daunting o.o'
Giving all the best moral support as you work through all this!
I won't go into a long emotional support speech because you already know how overzealous I get with these things :D
Thankfully all this work is for a piece of real estate, something that is actually worth putting money and work into unlike a car.
Remember Clippy your artwork gives you a pretty awesome hidden ability it's called Debt Clearer https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....it?usp=sharing
For real though Clippy 2022 can be summed up as the famous Rocky Training Scene https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YYmfM2TfUA
Being called Rocky does bring back memories of unrelated things that happened in high school. @.@ Though this application is much better.
Sincerely, I hope the end result is what you want with the financial side of things. I know it'll be tough but just remember you're not alone. We're here to help ya in any way we can!
You always got my moral support <3
The other side of things happening with this, is that all the years I put up with Hellday made this all possible. Not just because my boss there is assisting me with know how because he is landlord of his own property, but also he is very knowledgeable about politics going on.
Like just today, he let me know that huge political issue in the state for the last 6 years might actually apply to me and provide financial assistance for getting the building fixed. @.@ I wouldn't have had familiarity with this otherwise if I didn't work there.
Just yesterday I had to address a police citation because of expired registration on my car. I bumped into a bookstore customer there and he told me he heard what was going on and congratulated me, saying "It's good to see there are still some people like you with a backbone to do good." And then did a fist bump.
May the softs be with you too~
And course! Worry and care about ya!
