I'm not one to get into politics but this is something I do think about considering the I am a woman but confused.
Some say "The whole Roe got abolish thing sounds good" but I'm curious as to how this will effect rape victims.
Are we going to look at them as bad guys for not wanting a baby that was force on them through no fault of their own as well?
Please don't attack me for asking this question.
I just want to know cause nobody seems to be talking about that cause that is kind of import to talk about and I just curious.
What are the victims going to do now? Just have a baby and put them in an orphanage cause that seems to be one option or have the rapist take care of the baby they made?
Ether way I fell like we woman are away in a lose lose situation causes we're already being shamed for our bodies or being uesed.
What are your thoughts and pleases lets all be grown ups and not attack others for their option.
Nobody like an ass-hole

I may end up going on a tangent here but long story short: politics don't think because they don't have to.
Basically the SCOTUS just gave the individual states to decide whether a woman is a walking incubator, with no autonomy.
Clarence Thomas has already said that the next steps are to overturn the rights to contraception, same-sex marriages, and any privacy in the bedroom.
To put it bluntly the overturning of Roe vs Wade is a death-trap for women.
If a women is raped and tell, she may be tracked to ensure she will not abort even with "old" method (mint extract, Knitting needle...) so a lot may not tell in order to be able to abort.
If she can't It would be horrible to feel during 9 month a growing thing that come from a rape.
Even if the resulting lifeform have no responsibility it will not be loved. And dropping to an orphanage the thing, as it have still half of the women genetics she may feel guilty to do so.
If the rapist is know, a simple dna testing will prove the paternity, but do you think a rapist want a lifeform from his rape be back ? The thing will surely receive no love.
In the past when this happen, the thing was feed to pigs, or was drop to orphanage but no matter what happen it's horrible for the women.
Then again, that’s common from reactionaries that call themselves “conservatives”, they wish to make America like the 1950s without the free healthcare and university that also existed in that decade.
The Supreme Court decided to remove the Federal Government from the equation completely.
Their thinking is the abortion issue should never have been up to the Federal Government to decide since it isn't a power granted to them by the Constitution on the topic at hand.
As a result, they kicked it back to the States to decide the laws as they see fit.
( Which is how it's supposed to work. Powers not granted to the Federal Government by the Constitution fall to the States themselves. *10th Amendment* )
IMO, the Supreme Court did the right thing in removing the Feds from the equation. However, at the same time, the States are doing the wrong thing by getting involved in the decision making process at all. Again, this is an issue where the Government ( Federal, State, City, et al ) really shouldn't have any say so in the matter at all. Up or down. It's not their business.
So it's frustrating to see the States go full stupid on this.
The simple fix is for the States to leave the decision to the end user, but still determine if any State level funding can be utilized to help pay for it. ( This would basically fall to what the electorate wants. )
There is a bright side to this debacle.
Unlike the Supreme Court Justices who are appointed for life, the folks in charge at the State level are very much elected positions. Which means if enough folks feel their State leadership is lacking in judgement on this issue, there is now a method to remove them from power come next election . . . .
Believe me, they know this and, like all politicians, they will act in their own best interests should their continued employment become, in any way, questionable. So the best thing that can be done now is to make sure your elected officials know where you stand on the matter. In fact, the more the merrier.
To your question, I would hope the States would have exceptions built in for things like rape, known birth defects and / or life threatening issues that may arise by carrying a child to term.
-Hope- being the key word here, but we all know how stupid / short-sighted our elected leadership can be :|
As far as I know, it's completely legal and covered in most Canadian healthcare plans. So Women are given that as a Legal/Medical right.
The shit that goes down in the US just makes my head hurt... Like basic things here are considered completely Alien or some "Leftist Propaganda".
I love your quickdraw shorts on youtube!
which is horrific and shameful.
A lot of states already hav exceptions in case of rape.
Even in states that do not have thos exceptions, the general pro-life mentality is 'The woman is never at fault. We just do not wan to kill an innocent child over the sins of the father.' Crisis pregnancy centres and unaffiliated pro-lifers will be ready to take care of bo the woman and the baby, even willingly adop the baby themselves. (Do note, however, tha there are cases of victims of rape willingly keeping the baby. There are also cases of women regretting their abortions even if they were a response to rape... especially since many women are pressured into doing abortions.)
Moreover, Roe vs Wade was not only a cause of legislation by the Supreme Court (Congress legislates; the Supreme Court interprets) but also was obtained via trickery: Roe's judge pressured Roe into claiming rape when that was not he case. Roe vs Wade was repeale due to being bad law no matter wha the law does.
