Birthday! An update, and no Anthrocon this year (sadface)

It is now Saturday and thus officially my birthday.
I expect a very quiet one this year, but I'll be visiting my family and will see if I can find some additional fun things to do in the latter part of the day.
14 months since my last journal! I'm currently working as an editor at a large, private university. Not the most exciting work, but it's the steadiest job I've had in over 4 years and is a good place to be as I work my way toward a career change (currently planned for 2024, but the details are still murky, so stay tuned).
I'll have a lot more to say about future plans as they (slowly) come together.
Now some bad news: For a handful of reasons, I am unable to attend Anthrocon this year. I am not happy about missing it because I've attended every one since 2002, but it's just not in the cards this year. I look forward to seeing everyone there in 2023. I'll see if I can find some other events to attend later in 2022, as well, but no promises.
I've been pretty lucky to have a handful of friends visit during the spring and I hope I'll get to see even more during the summer months.

My documents quoted "June 26th" as your birthday. After reading your FA Note, I must've made a typo somewhere along the way! LOL! I'll have to fix my electronic documents (as your birthday date now appears in two different spots in my world -- LOL!).
Really sad to read that you won't be attending AC this year, though I'll still get the chance to see YOU soon! EEEEE!

BTW... I kept the birthday shout you gave me. Not many know when it is and I'm often ambivalent about announcing it, but it gave me such warm and fuzzy feelings and made the day just a little more special.
I'm determined to attend at least one convention this year, but we will see how that turns out. The best laid plans of mice and men…
