Semi-Retiring from Commissions
So ah.. this has sorta been a long time coming, and you've might've guessed by me opening coms less and less over the years...
But long story short, I've sorta found myself in a position where I dont need to take commissions anymore as supplementary income (which I've done on and off for almost a decade now). In the beginning, it was very fun, and I enjoyed making people happy with my art. Seeing clients light up when I showed them what I drew always made my day. But as time went on, I found it less and less rewarding for myself, even with price increases. Dealing with bad/nonchalant clients over the years slowly started killing my motivation/drive, and I felt like I wasnt getting anywhere career wise just doing one off commissions all the time. This is why I started doing them less and less, to a point where I can't bring myself to do them anymore unless its really worth it.
I still work in art of course, but I'm happy with where I am, and during any free time I can get... well, if I'm being honest, I would rather work on my webcomic and personal art in general, than anything else.
HOWEVER, I'm not going to stop them completely (hence "semi") as I still like to have variety in my life haha. But if I do want to do commissions again, it has to be something I'll be passionate in. So atm, I'll still make exceptions for these type of projects:
- Crossover commissions (your character with mine)
- Commissions involving my characters
- Fanart commissions of my favorite characters/species
- Commercial work for legitimate companies (this may be limited though, I'll let you know of my availability!)
- The occassional animated YCH auction
I honestly dont know when I'll return to taking regular commmissions again. I might even change my mind about this sometime down the line, as I've been feeling pretty bad/depressed about my art lately. So it may just be a matter of finding my spark/inspiration again. But for now, I dont know...
TL;DR: I'm burnt out guys, sorry...

‘T is a sad day for me. But I completely understand the burn out.
Hopefully one day in the future I’ll be able to snag a comm 💕
I wish success in all your future endeavors <3
But thank you! :)
But I'm glad to hear! I'm hoping I can share more of them now that I have the time for it ^^
eeesh, sorry to hear about that
"I'm burnt out guys, sorry..."
No need to apologize. Health comes first, very much including mental health. I am glad you are taking steps to look after yourself!
But thank you! ;w;
Plus I see the positive from this is that no doubt you can focus more on your personal projects which will be fun to see come to fruition all the more!
Best of wishes!
Whilst not making art, my own personal creations in terms of characters/worlds/universes in which the aforementioned live in give me great joy and sharing that with others is a delight.
No doubt and it is my hope the same counts for yourself!
Thank you for the reply!
But of course do the things you enjoy!
You just might not see other people's OCs drawn by me as much haha
Overall I think your mental health and desire should always take priority.
I will say you are seriously one of the best artists around and I'm so happy and fortunate with every piece that I've gotten from you. Thank you so much for all that the hard work, and I still look forward to seeing your personal pieces. Hah and maybe I'll get lucky snagging an opening should it come about!
Thank you so much though! But yeah if I start feeling better and more confident in my art again, I may backtrack on this and take a few here and there. xD
if you do eventually grow to stop taking commission ideas, at least you have done a lot towards the community. Ye have provided great art to those who love your work and we hope you do follow-
But thank you! ^^
