Save downloaded stories formatting?

I enjoy reading the stories I find on here. However whenever I save a story, if the story has special formatting like italicizes, bolding, size adjustments on certain words & what not; it fails to show up on the document. Would anyone know of a fix to get the changes to show up or a program that would display the document with the changes baked in? Thank you for reading & have a nice day!
I use a command line tool, called gallery-dl. I run it from time to time in order to backup my favs.
It downloads the submission and saves the description in html format so it preserves pretty well the formatting, you may want to check it! (you have to tweak it to make it behave like that, I can help with that if you want)
