Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series (Klonoa 1&2 remasters)

General
So recently a remaster of Klonoa 1 and 2 came out for multiple platforms. Since I own Klonoa 1 on the Wii and Klonoa 2 on the PS2 I technically had no reason to buy this collection. However I wished to send the message to Bandai/Namco that I want more Klonoa games so I bought this collection for that reason. At the end of the day I do like these games so I was happy to buy it at full price.
So if you've played either of these Klonoa games you are very likely going to enjoy the collection. It doesn't really come with any extra stuff that I can see, it's just both of the games. So if you like your collections to have lots of extra features, history of the games and all that, there is none of that here. It's literally both games just remastered.
Now I did enjoy playing through these games again, especially Klonoa 2 since I enjoy it a lot more, but both games have their fair share of issues I would like to discuss.
First and foremost I have the Switch version, so some of these issues COULD be exclusive to the Switch port, so be mindful of that.
Framerate. I am NOT a framerate snob, so I am not the type to demand 60FPS or nothing. I am unsure if I can tell the difference between 30FPS and 60FPS anyway. But what does bug me is when the framerate is choppy where in it looks like the occasional frame skips. Both Klonoa 1&2 seemed to have this issue. One spot in Klonoa 1 was ESPECIALLY bad as a bunch of enemies appear and the framerate tanked. For comparison I played the Wii version of Klonoa 1 on my Wii U, got to that same spot and it did not lag even a bit in that same spot.
Audio. The audio for this game seems weirdly low, as in I have my TV at a certain volume, and for this game I had to turn it up quite a bit to hear things well. But beyond that the audio mixing itself was all over the place. In Klonoa 1 the gameplay audio was higher than the audio during cutscenes, and the opposite happened in Klonoa 2. Furthermore in Klonoa 1 the audio mixing during cutscenes seemed off as the voice audio seemed too low compared to the background music. One might argue that the characters are speaking a made up gibberish language so this isn't important, but again this doesn't seem to be an issue on the original versions of these games, be they PS1, PS2 or Wii versions of the respective games.
Precision: This one could be entirely a subjective thing, but it felt like I had to be a lot more precise with hitting enemies with the wind bullet in this game. Having played Klonoa 1 on the Wii and Klonoa 2 on the PS2 I never felt like I had too much issue actually hitting enemies, but it seemed more frequent here in the remasters. I am unsure if the hitboxes were changed for this, or if it's just something else happening. But whatever the case is I seemed to have some issues at times.
Now obviously some of the issues mentioned could possibly be fixed through patches, but I just feel they are worth mentioning if you are on the fence about purchasing. Obviously only you can decide if this collection is worth it, for me I had no reservations on buying this collection. And despite the issues I mentioned above, I did still enjoy my experience replaying these games. I just would have enjoyed it more if these issues were not present in both games. =P
Anyway, I am just hopeful the collection sells well enough to make Bandai/Namco willing enough to make another Klonoa game. Maybe an entirely new Klonoa game could be free of any of the issues that are present in this collection.

FA+

But yeah, enemies around slopes were an issue as well, it just feels like their hitbox is smaller so you can't grab them as easily.
The only Klonoa game I've played and finished in full was the Wii remake, which Klonoa 1 in this collection is based on.
I'd really like to play through the original PS1 version sometime too.
If you avoid getting 150 Gems on every level the game is WONDERFUL. But trying for that completion aspect ruins the experience.
It would be interesting to play the original PS1 version for me too, but all I have is the Wii version and it seems to function very well.
