I'm currently running an ad campaign here on FA, but it is not really giving me the return I expected. From the last report I received, my ad was displayed a total of 11,382,879 times since the campaign started in Apr 22, but I only got around 4,056 clicks and out of these only about 250 people became new watchers.

The ad definitely boosts your visibility a bit but the statistics are pretty low as you can see. That could be caused by users having ad block, users not really looking at the ads or by my ad and content simply not being interesting enough, first two problems are out of my control but the last two problems are 100% on me.

Bottom line, if you decide to make an ad, spend a lot of time looking at ads that caught your attention before you create your banner, the successful ones are engaging and fun to look at, the more catchy your ad is, the more interactions you will potentially receive.

Thank you so much for offering your thoughts! Yeah, I've noticed even in the time I've been on FA, the style of the ads have changed so much. It seems like there's so much more movement and animation now, rather than just alternating pictures, as they were way back when I joined. That would be a lot of visibility by my standards though, so I might take my time to do what you suggested and consider doing a larger and more permanent ad!

You are welcome, I think part of the reason my own ad is not as successful as it could have been is due to how I designed it, I made it in a more "old school" way, without any fancy animations, just showing a few of my works and my user name. Like the others mentioned, this heavily animated ads are a reason why most people might resort to ad blocks, but for those who still leave it off, it is worth trying to make your ad appealing. There are ways to do it without becoming annoying, by making it witty and fun to look at for example, surely there are a few you'll identify yourself with, just make sure to take your time while designing it =3

Unfortunately I have ads blocked on here. Too many animated or image cycling ones that get distracting while trying to browse v.v

Yeah I agree, there's so much going on visually when I'm trying to focus in one spot! Don't worry about it at all, do what works for you.

7 years ago or something, it did me wonders.
Then a few years ago, I hardly got anything.
So I can't really say much, :') Other than uh, when it works IT WORKS and when it doesn't it doesn't.
I feel like it was my fault for the second run because .... I don't know, but something in the back of my head says I didn't put enough effort as I should have like the first one...


But I agree with the tips ARCR-CRic says 100%! And I am 100% on the same boat with guimoraesilva :'D One of the things that really irks me is the large amount of suggestive themes teehee.
But those are my own personal feelings around it.
