My theory is that they wrote an entirely new show but then realized that nobody would watch it so they called it Resident Evil and called a few characters and places names from the games, but didn’t change anything to make it look or feel closer to the games. They clearly were not making a Resident Evil TV show.
I'm really curious what Netflix will drag out of their bowels if they were to adapt Silent Hill.
It would be Silent Hill . . . but on MARS with a badass space marine in green body armor armed with futuristic weapons,
shooting hordes of demons that have escaped hell through a portal created by a scientific experiment gone wrong.

Would it, at all, be surprising if that WAS what happened? It's not a practice we haven't seen many times before, after all.
But that Martyn de Weert statement is too true of out modern era, companies keep slapping the recognizable label on stuff that could be great if it's new
