Well, with a brand name like Paper-Mate, it only stands to reason. Cute commercial, tho.

I wasn't a fan of Paper-Mate pens, mainly because the ink had a tendency to collect around the tip of the ball point and smear or leave globs on the paper when you wrote.

For what it's worth, some quick research says they used that slogan around 1962-63. That would seem to fit with the overall feel.

Yeah, I didn't think you had any input into the creation of the commercial (considering your age at the time) but it's crazy cute furry, anyway.
