"Why don't you draw more?"

Bok bok bok
I've put off writing this kind of journal forever out of worry that it'll come off as prideful or boastful, which it very well might anyway no matter how I word this. I really do wish I knew how to write things that expressed more humility.
I'm writing this because I think I get asked/told these often enough to warrant a lengthy explanation rather than give an explanation so brief that it I may as well be lying every time I am asked. It would be worth the time to link this journal than to repeat what I've been wanting and trying to explain for years.
"Why don't you draw more?"
Because drawing isn't my passion or my primary hobby, and it never has been. Drawing has always taken a firm backseat to my other recreational projects and hobbies. While I still do find drawing fun, it requires a more effort and mental fortitude from me, and the reward for completing and showing off art is not as great as completing something that I'm honestly more passionate about.
And I still do draw believe it or not. I just don't post them here because they're usually small sketches meant for friends.
"Isn't your skill going to waste?"
I don't think so. The "skills" I acquired from learning to draw are still with me, and I still use them often. Just not for art. If that makes any sense.
"Can I commission you?"
No, I don't like taking commissions. It takes away the only fun element about drawing from me and I get demotivated fast, as the liberty to draw what I want is gone. Drawing was never about the money or the attention either. I drew because I found it fun. Though, if you wave a 20,000 dollar check in front of me we can certainly talk :^)
"But you have a lot of drawings of your friends..."
Every single one of my drawings came about from a spontaneous spur-of-the-moment inspiration, and often those involved characters of friends. Few if any had no idea I was working on them until they were already done. There's no rhyme, reason, or pattern for the bouts of inspiration, it just happens and it cannot be induced or forced. I am a fundamentally simple bird.
"Are you ever going to draw again?"
Certainly. And when they are done they will be posted here.
