Be it a fact, a long forgotten lyric from an obscure song, a line from a TV show. What's that thing which you can still remember clear as day despite having not necessarily interacted with or spoken about the thing in question for years/decades?
For me, (well, one of many things, haha) it's the name of a TV character from a BBC Kids TV show that aired for one season when I was 4 years old. The show was called "The Fiddly-Foodle Bird", but to this day and not even remembering any of the actual content of the show (which I must have watched when I was 4-6 years old at most) I can remember that the full name of the character was "The Fiddly-foodle-bimbamboodleoo, diddly-doodle-oodle bird."
This lives rent free in my head alongside the entirety of Weird Al's "Albuquerque", most of the "Pikachu's Jukebox" segments from the end of Indigo League pokemon episodes, and the phrase "Lilou Dallas, multipass". Meanwhile I can't remember the recipe for some brownies I've made dozens of times without looking it up. Brains are weird.

Personally I'm always fascinated by the idea of how, by fate, personal interest, and bias, everyone finds their own path through all of this cultural detritus.

This used to air every single commercial break back when I was a kid and 20 years later the jingle is still burned into my mind.

Terrified me as a kid. Now I'm just fascinated with the memories of it.
Waaaaay back in the day on British children's TV, medical drama Children's Ward was supposed to start but was postponed a week because of unspecified reasons. Instead of the pilot episode, they showed a self-contained story about an Army Cadet who faced off against his doppelganger. At the climax, said doppelganger ended up falling off a cliff and landing on a rockface before fading out of existence. The last shot that I remember was the Army Cadet staring into space on the helicopter back home, leaving it ambiguous if it even happened.
I have no idea how to figure out what I watched and even if it ever actually happened, but the doppelganger dying on the cliff face and the teem staring into the camera on the helicopter ride home are burned into my memory anyway

"Why, what did she say?"
"I don't know, I wasn't listening!"
And the ever-popular "The ships of the Vogon Constructor Fleet hung in the air in exactly the same way that bricks don't."

I realise after typing this that I wrote an entire story which I believe was for you based around that HHGTTG line. The radio play is phenomenal. I think the start of the third season "The regular, early morning yell of horror..." is one of my favourite bits of ANY media. :D
I haven't gotten around to listening to the newer seasons yet (3-6), but I really need to!

Like, I'll remember a specific manowar song or something and suddenly I'll flash back to this old SNES game called Paladin's Quest. Obscure? Yes. Do I remember it normally? No. But I listened to that music while playing it so much that I associate one with the other.
Same thing goes with the original Dragonlance novels and Dvorak's New World Symphony (or actually, a Slavic Dance). I read those books and listened to that music so much in the late 1980s that I will see one and hear another and just be transported back in time 30 years. :-D
There was a creature in the sky.
It got sucked in a hole.
Now there's a hole in the sky.
And the ground's not cold.
And if the ground's not cold, everything is gonna burn.
We all take turns.
I'll get mine, too.
I have ADHD, so the last thing that I hear/see is what lives in my head until the next thing comes along. lol
But for long term, this insanely catchy song and this game video that has me wailing with laughter.
