So I finished up a commission a day ago and I DM my client going "Hey, your fic is done. I'll give you the link to the download/google doc when you pay me via paypal" I give my paypal.me and wait a bit. He doesn't respond so I go to his page to maybe shoot him a message in his page's comments.
That's when I find out his page is pending deletion at his request. His username is/was Mark_Fuse.
And he fucking scammed me.
Not as in he ran off with the product without paying me, because he has not seen his fic; no what he scammed me out of was my time. I worked a whole week on that commission, it's an eleven page fic that honestly took a lot out of me; I've never done a fic that long before. Near the end he kinda stopped messaging me once I discussed payment, and honestly that should have been the biggest red flag.
I shot him another DM telling him: "Hey I noticed you're erasing your entire existance from this website, here's my side email and my discord. Message me on either so you can tell me you've paid me my 55 dollars so I can give you your fic." but given that he didn't respond to my previous DM and he's currently pulling out of this site faster than a Paul Brother from a pump-and-dump crypto scheme, I don't think that email or discord PM is ever gonna come.
Which is fine by me, I get no money he gets no ficcu; but I'm still pretty fucking pissed that I basically spent a week writing a whole ass fic that I'm never gonna get paid for, which is an experience that's gonna make me even more overly cautious with future clients.
If this guy crops up on another website or something and you see the username Mark_Fuse, do not accept any commissions from him. For all intents and purposes he's a scammer.

That sucks man. But in the future- require minimally half payment upfront, if not payment in full. Sadly, a lot of ppl are just jerks. Sorry you got had!
