Yikes. The worst pain I ever experienced was gall stones ripping me open. Surgery was no fun. I hope they can get you taken care of.

Yeah, both my parents had to get theirs removed not long ago. This was pretty much inevitable... thought I had more time given their ages though. Turns out nope, I get it earliest of all! x3

I had my gallbladder removed a year ago last month. It's scary, and it takes your body some time to get used to certain foods, but it works out after a while. I wish you a speedy recovery!

I had gallbladder surgery recently, myself. The surgery is not fun, but it's not too terrible, thankfully, as far as surgeries go.

On the up side, you already had the time off scheduled. My partner had their gallbladder removed years ago. If it is being removed, find out what your dietary restrictions are supposed to be so you can keep that in mind after you leave.

Oh man. I feel that pain. Spent a week in the hospital months back. The waiting and nothing to do makes it miserable. Took me a long time to recover from the surgery but just being home and being able to do things made the pain far less intense. Best of luck to you!

Yikes! That pain is awful. My gallbladder caused so much issues that I had surgery to get it removed. It's a quick procedure. Hopefully you get the surgery and get well soon.

Generally diets are pretty heavy on the fats these days, I think. I'm certainly guilty of it... I love me a burger now and then, and potato chips are a way of life for me. What can I say, I'm an opossum, we eat garbage. x3

Oof, gallstones are one of the worst pains.

I had to have my gallbladder removed back in ‘04. The good news is, the recovery pain is nothing compared to the gallstone pain. It’ll be a relief. It’s also the most common abdominal surgery performed so it’s the lowest risk and recovery is generally not too bad.

That sucks. Hopefully you can get in fast so you can recover fast. Make sure when you have surgery that you have a comfortable place to sit for a week or so since it is hard to lay down right after surgery.

Got me comfy work chair, and if that doesn't do the job, got a couch to sit back on if I gotta. Sitting is a task I am extremely well prepared for. x3

I literally had my gallbladder removed at the beginning of June.
May not be the best vacation, but you'll feel tons better afterwards. It's better than writhing around all night.

Oh, hope things went smoothly for you! Yeah, looking forward to having this all behind me. Fortunately not too uncomfortable right now, I think as long as I don't eat any big meals for a while I should be just fine.

It did go smoothy. Only had to rest up for a couple weeks, and I could only really eat sandwiches. Had to avoid fatty and spicy foods.

I'm just glad, now that it's gone, I don't get that stomach churning bloated feeling anymore.

Uuuuuugh, been there and done that with the gallstones. Major upside - the relief after surgery is *instant*. Plus, the actual surgery is super easy and doesn't leave you down for long!

Yeah, looking forward to it. Didn't really notice until the big attack, but with hindsight it's pretty clear that this has been coming for a while. I'd keep randomly losing my appetite and feeling like something was caught in my throat for a day or two after eating sometimes. It was rare, but getting more frequent as of late. Then bam.

Gonna be nice to, hopefully, be done with all the digestive weirdness. :P

Yeah, you'll be amazed how much BETTER you feel once it's all over with. I most certainly did. Took me about a week to be more or less back to totally normal after surgery. Was in and out in one day, about four hours in recovery just to make sure everything was cool, and home I went with some heavy-duty ibuprofen that I never needed for pain. Really easy!

Honestly given what I last ate, it's not a big surprise it set it off. Apparently fatty foods tend to be a catalyst of gallbladder issues, and I made this real delicious hamburger/cheese/tomato pasta dish. Tasted great! The stabbing pain after finishing was less good. x3

Yeah, probably gonna have to get the sucker out. Not a surprise, both my parents did as well, and apparently it's quite rare in men so if my dad got it, I was pretty much a genetic shoe-in for this. Fortunately, Canadian as you say. So don't have to worry about bills or anything; worst case scenario is more boredom in the ER if something goes wrong early, really.

Oh, they definitely did what they could. When I first came in I was in obvious pain so they saw me pretty quickly and gave me something; I don't think it did anything because they suspected an ulcer at first and gave me something for that, but the pain did happen to calm down around that time so same effect I suppose. Once I was no longer in immediate trouble however, it was basically just waiting. For hours. So many hours. x3

Well, it could be worse, or it could be better. I'm just glad that everything is fine, you must have been given painkillers.

I spent so long in ER for my gallstones that I passed them. (They still took the gallbladder out though)
Recovery was real quick since it was keyhole.
