I'm afraid to open for commissions.
I need to open for commissions, but I'm scared of peoples' reactions to my updated prices. And I also want to change how I have my Lines, but they would be so similar looking to Inks that most people wouldn't be able to tell the difference and that makes me anxious.
I want to do themed commissions, but I know a lot of people have been waiting forever for me to open up.
I want to scream, a.

So best thing to overcome this fear is to show how these new lines will appear within future commissions and slow transition this into what people would like to see. Then, updating your commission price sheet to show off each kind of commission you are willing to draw.
By the time you do this, the fear of opening up for commissions will slowly dissipate as the same people who love your artwork will be willing to get a commission from you once again.
^u^
People who have been following you likely want to get something along the lines of what you already do, so it should not limit desire much at all.
Do Themed Commissions.
Do what YOU want.
Sure there are people who might be upset, but I think the majority of people would be happy with themed commissions. You did those a bunch in the past and they were super popular!
Like say... 10-20% off commissions if they meet a criteria (something you want to draw) ect. That usually helps bring in the people who want to commisison you but can't afford the full price.
Yeah your sanity is more important than pleasing people. Always remember, "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you can't please all the people all of the time."
Once you learn where your boundaries are, what you're interested in drawing and the prices you're comfortable with, you will feel better. I'm letting you know from experience. Sure you might feel remnants of guilt every now and then, but the way you'll feel once you start putting these things into motion is incredible.
Eventually, once you start drawing what you want to draw, people will come and be right here for it. Once you raise your prices, people who can afford them will be here. Art's a luxury and people who want it will save for it. Plus, knowing you're doing themed commissions will probably increase people's excitement! Always interested in seeing what the new thing will be or if an old favorite will return. Plus it helps those who are never sure what to get.
Also, I absolutely relate to you with the whole inked vs sketches. Whenever I get a new commissioner, they have no idea what the difference was between my inked lines and my sketched lines. But aside from a few rude people (and I do mean a very small few), no one ever cared, they were mostly just curious or didn't care. You're absolutely your biggest critic here. I promise most people wont care. And the ones who do will be replaced by those who don't.
No matter WHAT you do, SOMEONE will be upset. It might as well be them over you, Min. Your sanity, your anxiousness, your emotions and feelings are a bit more important as the service provider then those partaking in the service.
Of course that's a little tongue-in-cheek, but it stands true. You're the one doing all the work, YOU are the one that needs to be comfortable with what you're opening for and working on. Hell, if you're unhappy with updated lines, or your inks, just remove one of them until you've gotten a better handle on the things.
Whatever helps your anxiety. Whatever makes you comfortable. Whatever is easiest for you to do your work. Remember, if you burn yourself out, you won't get ANY commissions done, and you'll feel like crap to boot. So remember yer self-care and maybe start small?
They're YOUR prices. You charge what you want. What you feel you are worth. It should be that from the start. If someone complains, that's on them, not you.
If you let them, they will take advantage so just set your prices, rules and the sex will sell.
Good luck i hope you make what your goals are.
For change of lines; just be sure to provide clear examples that show the difference. Even close ups if you have to to drive the point home.
For themes; YOUR COMMISSIONS YOUR CHOICE! Open for what makes you happy!
I always feel bad pricing myself out of someone's budget, especially friends or fans that've wanted commissions for years. At the same time, if I undervalue myself I end up resenting myself and the work.
