I would suggest taking this opportunity to study mythological creatures from an artistic perspective; though they all are “scary” and what not, I think there are ideas behind their concepts and stories that could assist in making adoptables and/or adapting their form to suit your purposes. Furthermore, speaking specifically of hybrids, I think what could make adopts very appealing is being able/willing to think outside of just the visual perspective, I would hazard a guess that there is a large market of customers that, while being primarily interested in a fashionable adopt, would be very interested in one that has interesting biological aspects/utility e.g what if a dragon could spin a web, had multiple eyes, and a poisonous stinger on the tip of its tail? It crawls and chitters, its roar more akin to the squealing belt of a beaten up car mixed with a whale or some such thing. Hope that helps c:
