tumblr is good! wouldnt reccommend pillowfort bc of that passwords and emails leak a while back.

insta is also good but they intend on making it video centric soon because th owners suck.

Look into inkblot! its new and up and coming.

I post on instagram and have it send to tumblr, but both kinda suck tbh 😭

Tumblr still gets usage. It's less active than it once was, but a lot more peaceful, especially since the most high strung sorts tend to prefer Twitter for their "winning an internet argument" dopamine hit these days.

It may take a little while to build up an audience but it's way easier than Twitter or Instagram IMO because people actually look at tags sometimes and not just things that are trending. It's nice being able to post a high-effort drawing and know that people may still look at it a week, three months, a year or more from now, rather than getting 99% of its attention in the first 3 hours of posting and then disappearing into the algorithmic black hole, never to be seen again. Oh and I love love love being able to use tags to organize my artwork... nice to be able to see all my posts with a given character, or all my fan art, or all my fully-rendered scenes, or all my comics together at once.

Overall, Tumblr is probably the best balance of usability and active audience out there, IMO. I'm surprised more artists don't use it.

ALSO congrats on the house stuff! Sounds tiring but fulfilling... a screen porch is such an awesome thing to have. :D

I agree!! I used to have a Tumblr and I really liked how easy it was to organize and browse. It made it a lot easier to navigate character development and world building.

Tumblr so far has brought the most comfort for me when it comes to stuff! It has an amazing censor system for content you don't wanna see and people constantly are browsing the tags for a wide range of topics!

I can't vouch for Instagram. I tried using it and just didn't like the layout of it and posting images can be a pain sometimes due to quality from my experiences.

Postybirb is also useful for posting everywhere at once that supports it.

Tumblr for sure. It's kinda slow and mellow these days, but there's still an active userbase hanging out, AND you don't have to deal with any algorithm or ""engagement"" bs like you do on insta. Insta also haaates regular image posts nowadays. They wanna be the new tiktok and are skewing hard towards promoting short videos above everything else.

Another couple pros in tumblrs favor is the customizability of your blog, and if you're one to tag your stuff it's easy to organize too. Insta has none of that

God that sounds wonderful. Knowing what an algorithm hell everywhere else has become makes tumblr sooo much more enticing. AND WOW INSTAGRAM THAT IS OBNOXIOUS.

I use instagram the disadvantage can't to create a journal, I have seen some artists who can upload nsfw image on instagram and I have no idea how they did it without moderators blocking the image
I have stopped using tumblr years ago because of the system of prohibiting adult content and they it has deleted my sfw images by mistake

I know that today no one is interested in founding a social media for the artist community like sheezy.art.
but there is still this website buzzly.art and newground are also social network for community artists

Yeah I vote tumblr, especially if you want your stuff to be seen because instagram is full of bots and an algorithm from hell

I've gone back to dA and I've found it pretty good actually. Surprising amount of activity, good work to follow. I'm happy with it in comparison to effing Twitter.

I'm a big Tumblr fan, it has a nice dashboard to follow people! Lots of great people are on there!

imo, tumblr. a lot of the nasties moved over to twitter so it's a little more chill there, but there's the usual pros and cons.
