Animating can be fun!
There are quite a few gas themed animations around, so you'd be filling in quite a valuable niche.

When animating, it helps to mentally visualize the flow of motion, and keyframes are a big help too.

No problem!
Another elaboration on the keyframe thing you would draw key pivotal moments that happen in the animation, then you go back an fill in the inbetweens.
There are some simple(-ish) tutorials available as well.
I've done some basic animated drawings before, but none featuring gas stuff so far.
