Finally Hitting 20th Level!
**Giggles!**
Sorry to those of y'all who have been curious to what's been going on with the Saturday Night Tabletop Gaming Group, but it's been an insane week for me. Well, more for the Firm, but not me personally outside of being run all over the place to help these poor guys and gals out. As of last Saturday Night, the Bearded Lantern lit his victory cigar to celebrate two things: chopping off Cait's head with a vorpal long sword and having the group make it to 20th level in Wrath of the Righteous! This is the same campaign that is a computer game for various systems I believe ... I'm probably wrong and it's just for the computer, but if I had something like that, I would want to market it all over the place.
We started this back in 2016 I believe ... once again, I'm going with my memory and I was allowed to use Caitlynn Wildfire and Israfel Vincent in their BESM d20/Pathfinder stats, only allowing them to get from the mystic part of the adventure the basic stuff. That was fine by me. Now that I have sat down and read more of the Mystic Adventures book, I think I might have cheapened myself by not taking full advantage of the entire thing, but that's a worry for another day. Because of this, both of the characters are very powerful, but probably more on par with the BESM d20 system. The Bearded Lantern and the rest of the players have been very gracious to allow me to see this through as it was started out.
Now, the Bearded Lantern can be a tough Dungeon Master, but he's fair. Years ago, as some of y'all might know from the 2nd edition Dungeons and Dragons game, Cait got ahold of Hellbringer, her vorpal battle axe that a gold dragon allowed her to have through a wish. He's regretted this ever since. With Hellbringer, Cait has turned the tide on many fights, including one epic one against a big bad boss who was also a Mystic creature, if memory serves. Cait confirmed the hit and the damage was so high that a fortitude save was impossible, so boom! Down the boss went. Cait ended up getting hers this past weekend, which surprised the hell out of me! A very odd sensation, but one I had prepared for. Cait had enough ranks in her ability to reincarnate to come back at the end of combat on her own. The Bearded Lantern said that he had planned to do the resurrection himself since he was playing the noble Hans Icelander, Cleric of Thor. I told him that I had this and that this ability was getting used for the first time in over seven years.
Nevertheless, the gang has done really well and I do hope they are having as much fun as I am! I love being a player, especially when the game is fun and the Dungeon Master is not screwing the party. It can happen, though sometimes when we think we are being jerked around, it's not intensional. But there are those rare times that it is. Just for the Dungeon Master's amusement. The one Dungeon Master who's always made it clear that his mission was to kill characters is the Bionic Forearm, though the Bearded Lantern will take the win, but neither makes it permanent. "Where's the fun in that?"
Game On! BE Happy!
