End of the Year Journal I Guess?
I suppose it's customary for me to write one of these at the end of the year. For those who aren't mutuals, here's an update on my living situation on the whole:
- My family is moving houses
- I am looking to get into full time employment within the following year if not sooner.
- Twitter and Telegram, to a much lesser extent Discord, are still my primary hangout spots. Furaffinity is kind of outdated, I hope there's a better way of keeping tabs on commission openings
- Speaking of commissions, for once I actually want to put more towards them. I know I want a proper ref sheet for Sachi (my meowth character) and maybe an art piece to go with it. A series of refs for my main character will probably come much later down the line, as I don't feel like I need one quite yet.
- Fursuits! I've mulled in the past as to how I wish to go about that. Unfortunately, I still live with my family (who are anti-furry), so until I get my own apartment or find a roommate, that will still have to wait. I know there's supposedly stigma towards any furries above the age of 30, but eh, I don't care. Many artists I like are at that age or older.
- After I upgrade my refs, I want to get stickers from an artist I idolize. My mutuals may or may not know who this artist is, and I'd rather not make a big show of it since he used to be popular but is semi-retired. If I can't get a pack of 10 to 15 stickers from this person, I have a backup option available.
But listing out another wishlist that may again go unrealized due to financial factors is not the reason I'm writing this. See, I'm turning 25 at the end of the year. This is rather sobering for me, since it doesn't feel so long ago when I started actually getting myself involved in the fandom, when I graduated high school, etc. I've been in the workforce for five years now, I even bought my own car at the age of 21. It's just surreal to see my life progressing like this infront of my eyes, mutuals have come and gone, and the world has changed around me. Yet I still feel like mostly the same person I have been since about 2015 or 2016. Apart from maybe giving my character more defined whiskers and rosettes on his back in addition to normal spots, I see no need to drastically redesign my main character. It all feels frozen in time even as life goes on in the real world.
Ah whatever, I'm rambling! :D
